Good morning
It's catch up day at home today. WM is running with the load that I forgot to switch on when I got in from work yesterday. The small ironing pile has been seen off (to be fair it was very very small but annoying!) and bedding has been changed in anticipation of having an empty wm and somewhere to dry it.
I have to pop to the doctor's shortly, then it will be on with the lists. I also need to rummage in the fridge to create some meals for the next couple of days from odd bits of veg and leftovers.
Have a good day everyone. Lots of hugs to poorly flypets.0 -
[Crawls back in]
Morning all!
:T:T Congratulations, lil_me! Hope you had a wonderful wedding day! Here's wishing you much happiness in your married life
I need to get back into proper Flylady mode too.
After a week of stress over DH, followed by a brilliant but non-stop weekend celebrating my licensing and a flying visit from my goddaughter, I curled up on the sofa and slept for most of yesterday. At 7.15 pm, just as i was about to take DH to SW weigh-in (because he has a horse piddle appointment this morning and can't get to our usual group), one of the Old Wives rang and said, "Was I expecting you both for a meal this evening?":eek::eek: Fortunately we hadn't already eaten because of the weigh-in, the curry I'd prepared will keep for tonight, and our friend is not the sort to worry about us turning up as we were!
Another friend (the one I write study courses with) has cancelled a working visit today because she too is exhausted after her 70th birthday celebrations this weekend (it's our age, dear) so - apart from taking DH to the station this morning and giving Rosie a walk this afternoon - I must knuckle down to Flying. My study desperately needs attention, so does the garden. With no rain forecast for today or tomorrow, I shall try to do a bit of each. My green bin is already full, so I shall have to ask if any of the neighbours have space in theirs. But first I must rouse DH , get breakfast, and take him to the station.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed. Will report back later xxx0 -

LR and DR have been sorted. Ensuite and cloakroom are sparkling thanks to a trusty toothbrush and the bottle of bleach. I have taken out the salad drawers and anything else loitering in the fridge, so now the challenge is to create a couple of dinners from it all. The kitchen looks like a bad version of Ready Steady Cook...0

Welcome back Lil Me.
Today has been one of those days when I've started a job, there's been an interruption which has resulted in an urgent job which has been interrupted which has result in another urgent job which has been interrupted by another even more urgent job which .... You get the picture. I now have a table covered in notes of jobs that are reminders of jobs I have to finish and I feel very, very jangly.
I have, however, done the most important thing of all which is to make sure that lovely J, who transforms this house from a hovel to a haven in two hours, has a lovely birthday treat on Sunday. Nothing else comes anywhere near to being as important.
And at some point overnight I worked out a solution to a seemingly intractable, superurgent problem to do with the work I'm doing on a campaign I'm involved in. Result!
Flying-wise, the old boiler has left the building. *fling*Better is good enough.0 -
Mme Fluffyknickers still hasn't quite forgiven me, as she's keeping the same three and a half foot separation between us. But I would imagine it's a bit draughty for her right now
Every time I think I'm actually making headway into my list of things to do, I get 'asked' to make alterations to something I thought had been completed to the original specification. And I'm given three more things to do.
But I had a nice chat with the very annoyingly loud site manager I've been waking up to every morning for months (the man has zero volume control or filter when he's by the site hut - under my bedroom window) and he's apparently going to 'sort out' anybody he sees trying my front door, looking through the windows or even inside the place during the day. I should say that 'sorting out' wasn't my intention, but a bunch of big builders feeling a bit protective of me, as they've seen me limping to and from work, isn't too bad a thing (especially as somebody doing that would probably be more than happy to do similar to their building site and tools once they've got access to the back garden and, theoretically they'd think it would be a short hop over their side fence. In reality, they'd find the ground level is much lower on my side and they'd have to climb a huge wall, through very aggressively pointy vegetation and then balance precariously before dropping down another big drop. But they don't know that - and hopefully, there would be a rather irate builder or ten there to meet them.).
No housework today. Not much to do and I CBA with any of it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Pleased with my progress today:
- took DH to station
- stripped our bed
- did WMx2 and hung out
- fixed an extra hook in the under-stairs cupboard for my summer hats, so now I can get to my jackets without them falling on the floor (one more item off Toots list)
- decided to sort through all winter hats, scarves and gloves, then put them away tidily. How did DH manage to acquire 4 almost identical pairs of thermal gloves?????
- deadheaded flowers in back garden
- deadheaded lavender in front garden - lots of it! (another item off Toots list)
- had lunch and a nap
- filled our green bin and those of our two nearest neighbours with garden rubbish, reclaiming most of a metre-wide strip of the drive alongside the fence which had disappeared over the past 5 years under trailing ivy (grown through from NDN's side) and dead leaves. There's still more to be done here, but all the bins in our cul-de-sac are full! Bin day tomorrow...
- took Rosie for a walk up on the fields: she held her own in races with 2 vizslas, a spaniel, a labrador and a very lively little poodle
- emptied the compost from the big bin into 2 large trugs and a couple of large plastic pots, ready to spread on the garden when the makeover that I'm planning is done. Re-lined the compost bin with corrugated cardboard and a shovelfull of compost teeming with worms to start the next batch (yet another item off Toots list).
- emptied the compost bin from under the sink into the garden compost bin
- served up yesterday's curry and rice in 5 minutes
I forgot to say that I generously gave my goddaughter some shelves from the units which DS1 cut down for me sometime around Easter, a small bookcase, and two canvas director's chairs that we haven't used for a couple of years. I now have a bit of space in the utility
Now I'm going to watch GBBO. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed (especially to Dizzy) xx0
