Dizzy how is your Velvet Boy doing now after his escapade with the licking of the lime plaster? I can totally sympathise with vets bills hon. Everytime our fur babies go to the vets DH’s credit card quakes in fear.. Although thankfully Banjidog is insured so that’s a relief in some way. Have the builders gone now, I do hope so. I didn’t realise it was their fault that Velvet Boy got ill, sheesh they should have realised a dog would go nosing around.
Afraid I didn’t do the bottle brush thing with my plug holes Valli. I just couldn’t face the carpe coming out of them (it makes me barf!) so I will get DH to do it today…lol
Congratulations and good to see you back lil_me, please stay and if you lose the plot again then just shout in here and someone will boost you up.
JoJo has Mme Fluffy decided to forgive you for her Brazilian yet? Her feelings must have been hurt especially as Brazilians are out of fashion now..poor wee thing.. So glad FIL is making progress but sad that you can’t have Himself back home yet. Sounds like it’s a mission sorting out FIL’s living arrangements, Himself must be going bonkers at everything, including his sister.
Oooh Valli go you at having a famous visitor last week.. I have to ask though, is he an old friend or something? The only famous person I used to spend time with was Paul Bowen (him that used to be in Watching with Liza Tarbuck, years ago). He used to come to my foster parent’s beach hut at Whitstable beach on a regular basis :D
Fayolle I’m glad I’m not alone with a DH that doesn’t notice anything needs doing when he’s actually at home. He can happily ignore everything I’m sure. It’s always me that notices everything and when I write a list of things he always looks shocked at what needs doing.. I’m sure he walks around with blinkers on..lol
LW huge coping vibes from me too, it really does sound like you need them. I’m like the others I freeze veg when it comes in normally. At the moment I’ve got peppers, fresh sweetcorn, runner beans, French beans in the freezer. I also freeze any abundance of fruit that we get from our veg/fruit box deliveries – there’s plums, blackcurrants, our home grown rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries in there too. I’ve also got some carrots that need cutting up to freeze but unfortunately I don’t have any room in the freezer..it’s full of food!!!! This is also the reason we do have the second freezer full up of meat in the understairs cupboard..lol Trouble is it’s not getting eaten at the moment as DH is going through that dreaded chemotherapy that has killed his taste buds and he doesn’t want to eat much the 4 days after it.. So basically I only have 3 days to cook lovely meals. I think JoJo can sympathise with him as I think she is going through the same thing too..

Dizzy so sorry I forgot your birthday, hope you had a lovely day and you was spoilt rotten :D

Well I hope you all got through the above.. I blame getting up early and actually having the laptop open rather than just my phone. Plus I had some bits that needed doing so I though I would use the lappy as it’s much easier to use. And now seems to be playing ball instead of taking forever to load up and make me want to throw it out the window..lol

I’ve got all furcats sitting/hanging on their cat tower batting each other or the ball that’s on it. Afraid I sprayed it with cat nip yesterday and I think the cats are making the most of the smell and just pretend killing each other, well I hope it’s pretend and not really killing each other.

The poor dog is looking all forlorn as he wants to go out but unless you are a duck then it is definitely not dog walking weather. He could always go paddling in the huge floods at the end of the roads, the drains are completely blocked, I suppose but as he doesn’t like water that wouldn’t really suit him..lol Plus DH has refused to take him until it clears up later, if it clears up that is.

I think I will sort out the V6 box that needs connecting as I've had it sitting in it's box for nearly 6 months, and as DH can't do any gardening due to the rain he can help me if I need it..

Well I had better shower otherwise I will still be in pj’s at 5pm like I have been most of this week..lol

And I do hope you all haven’t fallen off your chairs/sofas that I actually posted something..and it was a long post too. I am going to try and post more often now winter is here..and I am starting to get more oomph with my weight loss.

Hugs and spoons to everyone xx

    Ironing done

Cat says it is too wet for him to go out, so he is busy 'killing' a ping pong ball, so far I have had to fetch it out from under furniture twice, next time it stays there and he get another one from his toy box!

it's breezy, bright and, more importantly, dry here so the lines are full. I have also cleared up the ironing mountain. Runner beans blanched, DW emptied, cats fed.

Famous visitor was at work. He's going to be a drumming teacher (peripatetic).

  • Mme Fluffyknickers forgave me Friday night. But she now holds me responsible for the wet stuff that has fallen almost constantly for the last 24 hours.

I've still done pretty much nothing other than unload the washing machine, as I woke up feeling really achy and sore again. So had a long bath and I'm debating actually getting myself together, bringing the SC out of the cupboard and doing some vacuuming.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Sorting and lining up laundry loads for tomorrow, prepping lunches for a couple of days, sorting out daily pills for Kelpie, OH and self, tidying and putting away stuff. Went to a friend's house to celebrate her birthday with her 18 month old son because her husband had to work, but miraculously he arrived home at lunchtime after all, along with a couple of her other friends which felt much better. OH is either celebrating or drowning his sorrows - why is it I just can't get interested in footie when it's so important to him?

Just about to finish typing up some notes - nine pages done, three to go. It would be so lovely to get this little tadpole out of my in-tray.
    Better is good enough.

all the washing has been brought in and ironed. 2 x cottage pies made; one in freezer. Mash also made for tea. 2.5kg of potatoes peeled and cooked. 3 people live here *roll eyes*
    I have been shopping.
DS has been shopping. We have 2 x chestnut mushrooms now, 21 eggs (1 x 15 + 1 x 6)...you get the picture. Fridge is rammed.

  • Just waiting for Little Pickle's bathtime.
    So:
Kitchen, living room & dining room are 'work week' ready.
Meal planning for the week is done (hubby is away, so it's freezer left overs all week)

There is a lot of 'stuff' on the stairs which I'll take up in a minute.
The bathroom is currently widow twanky's laundry, not sure I'm going to be able to do much about that.
pickle's room just needs a quick once over whilst the bath is running and I don't think our room is too bad either.

So that leaves this evening for knitting which is a priority job as the baby the blanket is for is trying to make an early appearance, so is best get on.

    Have a good week everyone.
