Back from work, WM on again, TD too, ironing done, recycling taken out and incoming post and junk dealt with straight away so not adding to the pile even if the pile is still there. DW emptied and dirty bits put in it. Hoping to clear the kitchen work surfaces and table by the end of the day. Need to shop but might do it online and ask OH to pick it up or it might have to wait until tomorrow.
Time for a cheese sandwich and get back on with clearing the table.0 -

Wow Chocolate lover, well done you!
I have my 4th load of washing in, washing up is done, worksurfaces used for food preparation are clear and table is nearly clear. Have also dealt with a paperwork frog as it had become critical today!
Off to put kettle on for a cup of tea and I will clear the table whilst it boils.

Kazwookie, long may the sales continue.
Work surfaces cleaned and table is shiny so put pretty napkins on the napkin distributor. It'll be nice when we sit down for dinner.
Enjoying my cup of tea now.0 -
I have achieved very little since getting home beyond the basic dailies. Recycling is out for tomorrow and lunches are done. When I left for work it was definitely autumn, but by the time I came home it was 23 degrees and summer again. Bizarre!
I have my cuppa in hand and am working out my game plan for tomorrow.
DH ran and emptied the dw as he was wfh today. He has stacked some of the mugs horizontally....is it me??? Obviously he is oblivious every time that he opens the cupboard to reach for a mug that they actually sit inside each other. Maybe it is a plan so that he never has to do the job again....another think coming, chum.0 -
I was very organised yesterday morning - I put a washload of work things out to dry,got my bag ready and did a last minute check of outstanding things before I was picked up at midday for a 12 hour shift doing my day job on my day off for my best mate. It was hard work, but as he and his wife have been brilliant through the summer, it's the least I can do for him - and it's a pleasure being around them (and I got fed). That meant I could fall into bed, talk to Himself and not have to do anything more onerous than drag my carcass out of bed for work in the morning.
Came back this afternoon, knocked up an almost instant curry (tin of chickpeas and half a jar of sauce with microwave rice), rinsed the pan immediately, decided I don't need a cuppa enough to go out to buy milk, and I'm thinking of having an early night.
Sounds like I've got another busy few days at work with various finance and admin things that have been given back to me after 2 years of somebody else doing them [strike]badly[/strike], a looming Ofsted, a mini event and a whole load of premises related problems.
Feeling a bit smug because I don't have to do anything with mini bottle brushes - my hair is so long [strike]and needs a damn good cut - but that ain't gonna happen any time soon[/strike], it's a doddle to retrieve the moultings from the plughole as soon as I'm out of the bath/shower, so it's cleaned every single use. And Himself is somewhat follically disadvantaged, so there's nothing from him, either. Except for any tufts he leaves on the floor when he uses his clippers - and a) they are his problem and b) he's not here in any case.
Beginning to suspect it's nearly time to swap over to the winter quilt. If I have nowt better to do at the weekend (such as sleeping), I might take it to the launderette so it doesn't look quite so gross when putting a fresh cover on.
Hope the dog recovers quickly and cheaply, Dizzy. I dread one of the felines needing emergency treatment - Idiot Cat is fully insured, mainly because he's the sort of animal who, if he's going to damage himself, is going to do it in such a spectacular manner, I might as well offer a presale discount on a kidney or two, but Mme Fluffyknickers is too old/expensive to be insured, so I'd have to give a credit card a battering if anything happened.
And now the Idiot Cat is moaning at me. Apparently, I've wounded his feelings by first opening a tin that wasn't for him and then what looked like a massive pouch of cat food, only for it to be rice.
Yeah. An early night appeals.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Dragging my married backside back in - I need to get some order, finish the unpacking including emptying the old garages (this is nearly done) from the house we left 4 years ago. I did come back then lost the plot when my youngest dog died
Save money, be at home more, be more organised
Today is about the little things to put routines in place, working out with DS1 and 2 what they can do to help and doing a little to catch up on the backlog
I’m going to get a washer and dishwasher load on Before bed. I’m enjoying the clothes rail use rather than always using the drierOne day I might be more organised...........

So much for an early night.
Mme Fluffyknickers needed an emergency near-Brazilian due to unspeakable things getting caught in her fluffy bits and welding a terribly placed patch of fur together. She was not a happy kitty (and I was less than pleased at having to perform a delicate operation with kitchen scissors - well, I was hardly going to use my hairdressing scissors or the ones for neatening up my eyebrows, was I?).
She's almost forgiven me now the nastiness has been removed - she's not hiding under the coffee table anymore and has narrowed the five foot exclusion zone between us to three and a half now.
I don't think she'll be coming up to sleep on the bed, though.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
