Actually I think you are what’s wring with the world, expecting your hand held and to blame everyone else for your lack of initiative.0 -
You have no chance if you took the legal route, as all this information was easily verifiable by yourself or your solicitor during the conveyancing process. You were provided with a TA6, which would have provided details of the boiler installation date. It's also hard to see any consequential loss (in the event the vendor lied on that).
The EA has been a bit shoddy IMO, but they are only required to query information provided by the vendor if they have reason to believe it may be false.
By all means, complain to PB, but don't hold your breath. Don't spend any more than the cost of a letter on this."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -

Anyway we move in then I did a bit of digging around and for out the work had been done late 2015 early 2016. Dose anybody think I would be intitled in some sort of compensation and where would I start. Also I’ve still got a screenshot of the EA page with the above mentioned.
Thanks
The time to dig around was before exchange.0 -
Actually, one factor among very many which is wrong with the world is the woefully poor standard of English on English language internet fora. No wonder employers bemoan the lack of literacy and numeracy in school leavers. Whence you came is immaterial; your posts are incoherent... Imho, of course.
I blame autocorrect, never once in my life have I meant to write ducking :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I used to think like you on this; then life gave me a severely dyslexic child.I blame those who need "autocorrect" because they are either too lazy or not sufficiently literate to rely on their own command of English: Generation appless/generation hapless.
It's OK. The child was eventually helped to gain sufficient skills and self confidence for her progress to become self-maintaining. She still has poor spelling, but with her qualifications and abilities in many other areas, she really doesn't give a !!!! any more about that.0 -

You can tell the estate agent that and if they take you at your word and put it in the property ad they would be no more liable then if you told them the boiler was installed a few months earlier than it was.0 -

There will always be exceptions. It sounds as if your daughter has acquired sufficient literacy to enable her to communicate effectively in written form rather than relying on "apps". The only time I have encountered "autocorrect" is in Word. I ignore it most of the time as I think I know better, not being American but then, I'm a dinosaur.
I bet your daughter would leave me standing in the sphere of modern technology, Davesnave. I am the illiterate there and, if I may make so bold, she has a great Dad. Lucky her.0 -

I was just talking about this to someone the other day. The fact that the standard of English is so poor is one issue. Another is that some people don't read books any more, or worse, never did (indeed, they don't seem to have the attention spans to do so). Not only is that problematic in terms of learning to write correctly, but it also prevents critical thinking, especially when a person becomes used to absorbing information in short bites (on social media, for example). A woeful state of affairs that doesn't bode well for upcoming generations, methinks. :cool:0
