  • Morning,

Just a waiting game with my friend :( I've asked if I can go and see her but her DH said no point as it would be a wasted journey, I think that means that it is going to happen sooner rather than later :(

Got home last night to an offer from BC 17 months interest free and no fee transfer offer. Typical when I don't need it as the majority of our debt is on 0% so no point in me applying for it.

Back to savings accounts again, I am wondering if it is worth opening another one for DD's camps and the kids school uniforms, even if I can try and save £25 pm, it's got to help? DD's camps this year alone cost nearly £400, not including Subs and Insurance.
  • Thinking about the pots, it would make more sense to put DD's travel in a separate savings account and renaming the current pot. So on that basis, I will open another account, as I would rather earn decent interest on that lump sum than not very much.

    Principality

Household - Needs building up, will cover everything house wise
    DD's Travel - Needed for the next 2 - 3 years £700+ per year
OD Overpayment - Once the OD is gone this will be renamed Holiday
CC Overpayment - Once the CC's are gone this will probably be used for Annual bills and birthdays
Cars - To cover servicing and MOT's but aiming to cover insurances in full

    HSBC

Christmas - Need I say more?

    Skipton

Emergency Fund - Aiming for £500 initially.

    Thank you xx
  • I did it, I opened another account with Skipton but their ESaver one this time.

This one will be ear marked for Camps/my glasses & kids uniforms for the time being and then once DD's travel has come out of the other account in August, I will then rename the pots accordingly.

June will see the OD reduce again and I should be able to pay a lump of the BC.

I feel quite in control of things at the moment despite what is going on in the background and my friend.

    Thanks Purplemum,
I've always avoided online accounts but you and HH have me thinking of one of these too...
    Have a good day.
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

    Emergency fund 0/1000
    Buffer fund 25/100

    Thanks hun :)

I'll be honest, I'd be lost without my pots. They've helped me get some sort of order to the chaos in my life :)
  • Do you remember back in March I had a problem with someone on site and it never really got dealt with? Said person had a full blown row with the client on site yesterday....client took the project manager and the contracts manager to one side today and told them to deal with it and that he wasn't going to tolerate said person anymore.

Said person has now left the business :j:beer::T:dance:_party_

Hi purple, now that's what I call karma - sometimes it just takes a while but eventually the good get rewarded!

Sorry to hear about your friend, would you not want to see her especially if she hasn't got much time left or would it be too intrusive for the family?

Yup :) The whole atmosphere in the office has totally changed now too.

I would've liked to have seen her, as she has been a major part of our lives since before the kids were born and after, same with her DH. I think it probably would be too intrusive, so I haven't pushed it further. xx
