  • Thought I should post an update on my pots so that I know where I am and what I am doing with them.

    Principality

Household - Needs building up, will cover everything house wise
    DD's Travel - Needed for the next 2 - 3 years £700+ per year
OD Overpayment - Once the OD is gone this will be renamed Holiday
CC Overpayment - Once the CC's are gone this will probably be used for Annual bills and birthdays
Cars - To cover servicing and MOT's but aiming to cover insurances in full

    HSBC

Christmas - Need I say more?

    Skipton

Emergency Fund - Aiming for £500 initially.

I feel that I need another account, as I am sure I have missed something somewhere? I have been wracking my little old brain and I can't think of anything else?
  • Back again.

I can't think of what other account I could possibly need or want, so for the moment I am going to leave things as they are.

I have decided though that my next target will be the BC, as it is only a small amount left on it.

Then I will build up the pot again and then plough it on to the MBNA card.

I love how my mind goes off on tangents like these some times **rolls eyes** :o

  • Afternoon,

Well that may have put the car amongst the pigeons as the saying goes. I just messaged my mum with the full details of the trek next month and at the end put that I hope it doesn't come across wrong but for her not to bring her BF down as this is for my dad's birthday and that I would've liked my brother to have been there but that's his problem....she has read the message but radio silence so far. No doubt blaming my DH for it.

    Ah well.

I did a 20km walk on Sunday and apart from a few detours and nearly getting lost (seems to be a habit for me!) I finished in 3hrs 30 mins :j I felt it in my legs yesterday though, although not so much today.

Not much else to report at the moment.

I hope your mum isn't offended but she should respect your wishes. Well done on completing the training walk :T.

You seem to have thought of most things with regard to your savings accounts :). I'm tempted to open another one for Christmas savings. Where did you hear about the Skipton account as that sounds like a great interest rate?

Well done on the training. I hope your Mum comes round, it's a reasonable request x

    I used this website:

Of all of them, the Skipton one was the better deal for me.
  • No response from mum yet, DH says that she will wonder why he is allowed and not her BF, I told him that him and the kids are my family along with my mum.

I've spent too long over the years trying to please her, especially since my dad died. If she has chosen to get the hump, then so be it, she'll come around sooner or later.
  • My lovely friend has just text me to say his wife is back in hospital and the diagnosis is terminal. I love this couple with all my heart. She is early 80's and has been suffering with her health for the past few years :(
