Work Xmas parties are vastly overrated. I don't drink so watching my colleagues descend into drunken, potentially career-limiting mayhem whilst forcing down bland, badly batch cooked, lukewarm whatever is not my idea of fun. This year I am not going and will get the afternoon off instead to mooch around the town centre, indulge in a nice coffee and generally chill out, all with no hangover at work the next day - who gets the better deal on that one... :p

I totally relate to that :) The company I'm temping for do theirs on a Saturday...which in some ways is a good thing I guess.
  • I have a good excuse not to go to my work party, it's in Cardiff and I am not - I'm the opposite end of the country!

Looking forward to going out with my running group instead.

  • Being at SIL's would be a blessing in disguise Purplemum. It's always worse when you have to pay for a works Xmas do that you know you won't enjoy anyway!

  • Morning :) half way through the week and it's pay day on Friday too.

DH dropped DS off at the Squadron, they're due back about 9.30pm so a long and busy day for him, still he seemed excited about the whole thing.

DH has started the process to try and claim some/any PPI, if there is nothing then fair enough but as he says 'we've nothing to lose', so hopefully we'll see what comes out of it.

I need to go through the finances again and see what's what and make a note of everything that's coming out.

I'm itching for November to start but I'm also keen for 2019 to start, this year has been a tough one and it would be good to have some luck for a change.

I've done this, so now I can tick them off as they come out and transfer the necessary money over as I go along. I have been rather slack with this one this month.
  • Good luck with the PPI claim. We've been meaning to do that but we're not on top of anything at the moment, especially the finances.

Thanks, DH has been talking about doing it for months and kept putting it off. I think it was only because one of his work colleagues is doing it that he finally bit the bullet.
  • Good luck with your PPIs. DH is right.
I haven't been successful just one more to try

  • Hiya diary,

DH has printed out the necessary paperwork and needs to make a phone call to query something and then should be able to send the PPI forms off.

Since I have been taking the Vit B tablets, I'm feeling a bit more with it than I did, so I do think that may have been the problem after all.

Slight change of focus for the end of the year, I have told DH that I want to get rid of the BC and pay the washer off and then reduce the MBNA to £5K, I'd ideally like that just below £5k but with the remainder of the BC hanging about I don't think it will happen.

By my calculations I can have the BC gone totally by November Pay day as I have money in the pots account.

The main problem will be the MBNA and getting the £860 done and dusted, although after Octobers payment it will be less than that anyway.
