Depends on the type of battery CLF.
Early laptops used nickel-cadmium (NiCad) batteries which were subject to a “memory effect”. If they weren’t allowed to discharge all the way before being recharged they would eventually “remember” the level of charge they fell to before recharging and act as if they were completely drained every time their charge decreased to that level.
The next generation of laptops used Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) batteries. Those batteries generally were an improvement over NiCads, primarily because they didn’t have the memory effect issue.
The vast majority of laptops on the market today use lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries which work much better and last longer than their NiCad and NiMH predecessors. Li-Ion batteries aren’t susceptible to the memory effect which means you can recharge them at any time. In fact, lithium-ions will last longer if you never allow them to fully discharge.
Bottom line: If your laptop uses an older type of battery it’s best to let it discharge completely before recharging it. But if it uses a lithium-ion battery it’s best not to.

My laptops pretty much brand new so I'd hope it's one of the new ones. I've ordered a timer though because if its not being used during the day the battery probably won't go down anyway. Unless it doesn't matter?
Today I've booked my bicycle in for a service (£50) I've not cycled for three years so my plan is to cycle once a week to work and build it up until I'm cycling at least 3 days a week. Free exercise and saves fuel! I can't service the bike myself, I'm looking at taking a course though.
Also having another tin of soup I've dug out from the cupboard, expires end of year so must have had it for about 3 years already!£5000 left to pay on credit cards, down from 40k!!0 -

You can tell what battery you have by removing it and it'll be stamped on it. On many laptops they just click out. Or google the make and model of your laptop and you'll find it that way. The battery shouldn't go down too much when it's switched off.
You can get a Haynes Manual for bicycles with a picture-by-picture guide on how to service bikes. (Link) You could always order it from your local library. Our library charges 30p for this.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 The Joy Account: £10 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi September Savers,
Afternoon!:coffee:Last day of my Holiday At Home.
And L'Shana Tova. Apples and honey a plenty in this house. :wave:
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:
* Check online banking. Done.
* Take medication. Done.
* Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.
* Get some exercise. Used Bike and Go bike hired yesterday for a second time on the one, single "24-hour" charge. Feel like a genius for working this out. :idea: :rotfl: Am close to having cycled 100 miles this year and I'm loving it. I'm on 91 miles. I plan to buy myself a bike for Decemberfest.
* Lunch was cheese on toast with home-grown chives. Done. Everything comes with chives just now.
* Dinner will be a Tapas Tuesday deal at the tapas bar round the corner. Then we'll come home and make churros and have a Liqor 43 instead of paying a lot of money for them in the bar.
* We were going out photo-gra-faffing but the weather is horrendous. Opting for a 2-for-1 Meerkat Cinema deal instead.
If you've bought any of these products with CompareThe Market you qualify for Meerkat Movies and Meerkat Meals.
