I hadn't noticed until you said :rotfl: What's next on your hook?
Continue to crochet Christmas gifts (2 in 1 as good for my wellbeing and sorts Christmas stuff out)

    What are you making?

    Hello Monday Money Wranglers,
Stressful day as Mum v low now, as well as extremely poorly & no sign of her leaving hospital atm, if at all. So kept myself busy with frugal activity:
*2 baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Overnight laundry on cheap tariff. Pegged outside to dry for free.
    *Picked some pears.
*Labelled 10 jars of brown sauce made yesterday & packed away in pantry.
*Made Kashmir chutney using another 1kg of our windfall apples.
*Made courgette & watercress soup for my lunch. Plenty left for tomorrow.
*Did rubber pork - it did roast dinner last night, hot pork cobs with apple sauce & chunky home made coleslaw tonight & will do a curry tomorrow.
    *Baked a sourdough loaf.
    *Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Filled tiny snack boxes with dried fruit.
*Did budget update, transferred funds around to keep different 'pots' straight & paid a CC.
*Paid another 4 x 50ps into my sealed pot.
*Free leisure tomight as intend to finish library book & maybe knit my handwarmer.
No heating on here until at least October. It isn't cold enough if we are warmly dressed, & being careful now will save money for the real winter months when we really do need the heating on.
    Anyway, that's my day,
    F x

Hope we get to see a pic of the handwarmers ;) Sorry to hear mum is low now as well as battling illness, I really hope things turn around soon. Much love as always.

Foxgloves, so sorry to hear that your Mum is so poorly, and feeling low. I hope she improves soon.
  • Foxgloves I do hope your mum improves very soon. Well done for doing so much DFW'ing whilst she is poorly. Sending hugs.
Cat the good thing about chutney is you don't have to worry about a setting point like jam. Let us know how you get on
CLF amazing blanket, you're very talented :D I didn't notice your toes, or just thought they were part of the pattern :rotfl:

    My list for today:
Make some soup this morning as I didn't get round to it yesterday, portion for lunch don't have onions, so will use a leek instead
Beef joint in sc for tea
Use sample of toothpaste I was given for free
    Check banking
Hot drink from home for commute
Hm cake to work for a snack, lemon drizzle made with last of frozen grated lemon zest
I have 1 more bag to sort in spare room (did 2 yesterday)
Sew up some trousers - these are becoming the new dawn's jeans :rotfl:
Triage fridge, see what can go in sc ;)
See if DH or I can get to the gym tonight

Have a good day folks. Purps.

    .

Well, I did mend them.... eventually :rotfl::rotfl: I am a terrible procrastinator :D - I do hate sewing though, even more than ironing :o

Opticians's appointment this morning, and I will walk to save fuel / free exercise :) Not been for years (kept putting it off, see above!), so will probably end up being expensive

    Apart from that:
HG fruit with breakfast - some stewed apples, plus fresh blueberries and raspberries :)
Tidy up as I am child wrangling all day tomorrow, baby GS all day and GD from 1-5.30pm
Pack and post an ebay item

Finish off soup for lunch - not my finest hour, don't think I will make that again:rotfl:
Maybe pick some blackberries locally, or more garden tidying this afternoon, weather permitting (doesn't look great :()

YS posh burgers and buns for dinner

    Better get on!

    Morning folks

Thanks for your kind words about my blanket (and my feet!!)

Feeling very sleepy today, clearly more coffee required. However am going for a lovely massage after work today so I'm looking forward to that.

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Popped some bits into the freezer that were knocking about in the fridge - done
    • Ask OH to peg washing outside in hopes it will dry
    • Used water collected from shower/dehumidifier to flush loo - done
    • Charge phone in work
    • Gym at lunchtime
    • OH to do housework hopefully
    • Poss sort budget sheet with OH as couldn't do it on Sunday as normal
    Not much doing today.

    Have a good one all

    Morning!

It's so cold up here in North Yorks, I still refuse to put the heating on though. I need to start digging the blankets out, and we've lost the covers to the hot water bottles which has annoyed me. The good news is that I've lost enough weight to fit my jumpers so no excuses, can't be sitting around in t shirt. Does anyone else have a goal as to when they'll turn the heating on? I'm planning on dragging it out to the start of November!

The gas went on yesterday for the first time for one hour after we both got a soaking but we won't make a habit of it. Used it to dry the washing too. The electric fire goes on in the sitting room for 10 mins in the morning now. Scotland is freezing and DW has arthritis.

  • Welcome to all the newbies and lurkers. It is a great thread, keeps me on the straight and narrow.

foxgloves sorry to hear about ur mum, sending hugs

CLF I love the blanket........and spotted the toes!

Interesting day for me today. Work later, just for a couple of hours, will see how I get on but do have paperwork to get on with.
After sorting out the freezer it is filled again but at least I can see what is in it now, much more organised.

DD took me to Marks on Sunday as we had heard the shortbread was half price, didn't pick up any but the chocs on offer so picked up some boxes and the timing was perfect for YS time. Picked up a few things reduced to 60p, most are tucked in the freezer and a beautiful farmhouse loaf for 15p. Has worked out a cheap shop this week with the reductions and the cats are well sorted.

Bestie sorted out dinners for me and DD Sunday evening so only started tucking into Marks stuff yesterday but have been able to form a meal plan around everything for a good 2 weeks

Not been doing much else...still trying to do my decluttering.......decluttered a few family Christmas presents over to DMs yesterday...nice to have some space.

Need to really concentrate on sorting out the living room, have put a few bits on eBay.

That's about me from me, have a great day everyone x
