Thanks, beanie, maman and Denise.
I totally understand your wine syns logic, Denise.
maman, I make sweet and sour, but I’m not sure that it’s all that SW friendly, lol, so I won’t share – even although it is very tasty! A wee, occasional treat.
Wow, v1ckyt, you are making amazing progress.
Hello, toniq, pleased to meet you.
Not pleased with myself today. I’d been doing a lot of housework and time got away from me, so too late to start on planned dinner, unless we wanted to ‘dine at nine’ (not an option for DH). As a result we had a Chinese take away. Stupid! I usually set an alarm on my phone to remind me to start dinner, but this time I ignored it just to get a bit more done. I don’t think there was enough Body Magic in there to offset the syns!
Breakfast: fruit salad, fat free natural yogurt (are there syns in this or is it just the flavoured ones?)
Lunch: baked potato, Heinz 5 Beanz, grated cheese, Light & Free strawberry yogurt (1)
Snack: Mr Choc coffee minibar (5)
Dinner: beef in black been sauce, rice (half portion) (oodles of syns)
Snack: hexb toast & jam (2)

Me again.:)
Does anyone make sweet and sour chicken? DH loves the one with thick, orangey gloop and pineapples. I realise it would be a bit synful as I'd need to thicken a sauce but anyone happy with a SW version. I've got masses of chicken breasts so looking for ideas other than usual stir fries.
I've got a recipe that I use but can't lay my hands on it at the moment. Think it might be in the motorhome so will. have a look after group tomorrow and see if it's in there. If it isn't I've no idea where it is as haven't used it for ages. There are a couple of recipes on the SW website but they've got syns in them as they use tinned pineapple. I don't usually worry about the pineapple and just make do with the sweeter in it. I'll chuck in some fresh pineapple at the end if I've got any though!Hi all, is it okay to join in?
I joined slimming world 3 weeks ago, only lost 2lb week1, 1.5lb week 2 and 0.5lb tonight.
I have a desk job so don't exercise as much though am walking dogs for 45 mins a day.
I find the recipes okay but already am bored or natural yogurt or fromage frais in everything.
Lots of luck in your journeys!

Welcome to the thread. I got to target using 0.5lb or 1lb a week. It seems tedious at times but a pound a week is still 52lb over the year! I also had a desk job at the time and did no exercise other than when I used to walk to see other people rather than send an e-mail. If I hadn't done that I'd have been tied to my desk all day apart from lunchtime or when I needed the loo:rotfl:. I always walked over 10,000 steps a day at work!
I hardly ever use yoghurt or fromage frais. What sort of things do you like to eat? Have a look at the recipe thread at the beginning of the thread there are some good ones there which don't use either of these!
Have a look here every day many of us post our menu plans. If you like the sound of something then just ask for a recipe or have a look at the SW website. The sample menus might help you too.
Good luck with your journey.

You're very welcome.
I'm another that does very little exercise. It's what you eat and drink that really matters IMO although exercise is good for toning and strength.
I've been at target for more than 7 years and I've never bought any fromage frais! Just recently I started eating fat free Greek yogurt (like Total 0%) with fruit.
While there are some good SW recipes, I mostly adapt what I've always cooked to make it more SW friendly. Often it's as simple as Frylight.
Just ask if you have any questions, generally quicker than asking consultant.

Thanks very much, great idea to use the lemonade for the 'sweet'.0 -
You're probably right. I was just pointing out that it's somewhat been ingrained into my personalityI don't think it's just a working class thing to not want to waste money. Surely it's about being sensible with money however much you've got! mse :money: is just the place for you!
I've been very mse today. I went to Morrisons to pick up something for DD (not a shop I go to often) and they had lots of YS fish so haddock, cod and salmon all in the freezer. I love fish.:D
It's not just food, it's almost any consumable I own

Welcome Toniq.
When I first started SW I found that adapting the way I cooked my usual meals was the easiest way of getting into it - so, using Frylight instead of other oils and fats, most importantly upping your fruit and veg intake, so adding veg to chillies, bolognese etc, no bread with everything. You don't have to eat anything you don't like - a friend has reached target without ever eating a yoghurt! - as there are many many recipes out there. Pinch of Nom, Two Chubby Cubs have loads as well as the 'official' SW ones. Perhaps if you tell us what kind of meals you enjoy, we can suggest SW friendly ways of adapting them??
I lost over 3.5 stones in just over a year without any excercise to speak of and losing no more than 2lb a week (often less) so you can do this!0 -
-1 for last week please Chris. Slow and steady wins the race, I hope!0
