Thanks, Denise, for the yogurt syns reminder. I had noticed it on here, then promptly ignored it – which I may continue to do, depending on my mood/how many syns I’ve already used.

Oh, gtq, I’d hate that scrutiny – and I’m more in need of it then you! I hope your injuries and pride are on the mend.

Well done, Stoke, pleased for you.

Happy to report I remembered to weigh today and even happier to report -1.2lbs - at last!

Breakfast: smoked salmon & scrambled eggs
Snack: Mr Choc coffee mini bar (5)
Lunch: hexb sandwich (mayo - 1, ham, tomatoes), apple
    Snack: shortbread finger (5)
Dinner: cottage pie (with carrot, onion, peas & corn and potato & sweet potato mash on top), broccoli at this point all 6 other fellow diners had home made chocolate cake for dessert and I had ….. nothing. I don’t like chocolate cake at all but I do make a good one, ha ha.
    Snack hexa cheese and grapes

    Night all.

Well done Stoke and Greentiger on your losses.

Stoke you'll easily lose those last few pounds if you still to plan but don't try too hard - it often means you don't lose!

Greentiger I know what you mean about the yoghurts. I felt the same about when they changed the wine syns. To start with I carried on syncing at the old rate but over time have accepted the new syn values! Only difference is I used to drink 175ml glasses of wine but I like to have 3 glasses so now have 3 125ml glasses. I think in my mind I'm still drinking what I was before but I know that really I'm not - if that makes sense! (It does to me, LOL!)

    Having a Green day today:

B - boiled eggs, 1 slice bread with butter (0.5 HEB +2); 1 slice of bread and butter with marmite (0.5 HEB + 2)
L - HM dips; veg sticks; salad (2 syns for 1 Tbs of hummus)
D - HM veggie curry; rice; may also make some syn free onion bharjis if I can be bothered! HM rice pudding to follow

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - milk
    HEB1 - bread
    HEB2 - ? not sure yet
    Syns - butter 4; hummus 2

That's the plan.... literally :D I'm not going to force it, I'm just going to try not to sabotage it, like Saturday. I'm struggling to get my head around last night, because I know deep down I had such a terrible Saturday, I did have a very good week other than that though. The body is very weird though; I've been in situations before where I've not lost for a few weeks sticking very closely to plan, fallen off the wagon a couple of days one week, and it's almost restarted my weight loss. I wonder if your body gets into a like comfortable 'zone' thanks to low calorie intake and having a bad day can actually boost your metabolism for a period afterwards? It's the only thing for me that can explain it.

Still, I've started today by consuming 6.5 syns :rotfl: with an Oats So Simple Golden Syrup sachet. Ordinarily, I wouldn't go near the stuff, but I was sifting through my cupboards and found loads of packs of dehydrated stuff like porridge, weetabix, noodles and mug shots. I am trying to eat out of my cupboards as well as lose weight :) So far it's going good, starting to slightly run out of food though!! Freezers, cupboards, I basically want bare cupboards 2019, and I will start again.

The loss was all Vicky's not mine (I gained this week).

Delighted you had a loss greentiger. Worth sticking at it.:)

You're so right about the apparent randomness of weightloss Stoke. Going off plan can sometimes seem to shake up metabolism and I know we've all had weeks where we've been really good and lost nothing.:( That's a lot of syns for the porage but it's a good idea to get rid of the sachets then you'll be able to buy in SW friendly stuff and be more in control. I know it's hard for people with families but generally I think it's better not to have synful stuff in the house. Other than wine;), I have most of my syns when I'm eating out.

I can't say I've really changed much but I have noticed myself checking the alcohol content of wine to make sure it's in the lower syn bracket. That's progress I suppose.;)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Weetabix, HEA milk, half banana
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onion, beetroot, cornichons
D: Austrian ham hash with runner beans, cauli and broccoli
    Syns: None!:D

It is a lot of syns for just some porridge (and meh, i'm not even a big fan of porridge), but I find it really hard to chuck perfectly good food out. Most of this food was purchased before I started SW and perhaps by my ex fiancee. The date on this porridge is early 2016 lol :D

Thing is, I was raised in quite a working class house.... Food was never wasted, unless it was truly 100% mouldy/spoiled. Waste was not really an option. Didn't matter how much it cost or whatever, being wasteful really wasn't allowed.

There is a hidden irony/hypocrisy here isn't there? I won't waste some porridge which cost £2 for 18 sachets...... but for years, while gaining weight, I had no problem spending/wasting £5-15 on a crappy takeaway multiple times a day/week.

I don't think it's just a working class thing to not want to waste money. Surely it's about being sensible with money however much you've got! mse :money: is just the place for you!

I've been very mse today. I went to Morrisons to pick up something for DD (not a shop I go to often) and they had lots of YS fish so haddock, cod and salmon all in the freezer. I love fish.:D
