Hi all, a little advice is required please.
I've been reading through all the stuff regarding PCN's, the newbies post and links. I'm so confused right now.

I received a PCN in January this year for my vehicle being in a pub car park for 17 minutes.

Altogether I have received two notices from vcs, three from drp, and two from zenith. Now I have a letter before claim from vcs. Up until this point I've gone down the "ignore" route.

The letter before claim is dated 15/8/18 but only arrived on Saturday 1/9/18.

I'm trying to keep this post short as I see there are lots of people wanting advice, I'm just wondering whether I have any chance of this going in my favour, and what steps to follow. I've not been able to find another similar case.

Many thanks I'm advance.

Turnip.

Of course you have a chance. Better than VCS do

Best go to the pub, talk to the landlord and explain
what happened and as a customer, or even a potential
customer, request this charge is cancelled

VCS will probably say it's now too late to cancel but
they lie, a case can be dropped right up to the day in court
The landlord can confirm this by ringing the local court

Bear in mind, depending how you attack this, that pubs
go bust every week and the landlord will find a decrease
in business by employing parking vermin

You have the "pub buster" .... facebook, twitter and
Trip Advisor ...... then its to your local newspaper

Hopefully the landlord will see sense and maybe will
understand that until he kicks VCS out, his business
    will decline

for being in a pub car park for 17 minutes

Do you have a pic of the signs there? If not have you checked the location on Google Street View?

You might want to send a standard reply to the LBC asking for more details.

  • I'll call the pub now, I'm not able to get there authentic moment, it's a reasonable distance away, thanks.
  • Could you possibly point me in the direction of the standard reply, my mind is baffled at the moment. I can see why people just pay up.

I'll get on Google too, only have a picture of my registraion entering and exiting the car park.

    Thanks.

You have plenty of time, landlord first.

This is probably one the crazy systems where you have
to register your VRN in the pub

Did you miss the template appeal in BLUE at the bottom of post #1 in the NEWBIE sticky? BUT, as Beamerguy says, landlord first.
  • I must have missed it, will go and check again, thanks for your patience.
Just spoken to the duty manager, waiting for a call back from the general manager. Apparently they are now using Parking Eye, not sure if or how that affects things.

    Really appreciate your help.

OMG, talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire

This pub will go bust if they play with parking vermin.

The duty manager should be informed that they are
jointly responsible/liable for their agents actions and
if this harassment continues you will join the pub
in any court action. It's as simple as that
  • Hopefully the manager will do something about it. I should have contacted them straight away, not when I have a letter before claim.
Something I have noticed after more reading on the matter is the time between contravention and issue of notice to keeper......39 days. I belive this falls outside POFA. Do I have to tell anyone who the driver was?

If you don't want to reveal who was driving you need to edit your op to remove details of who was driving

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your posts against you

Obviously make it clear to the pub which PPC is chasing you!

(You are now too late for any appeal!)
