I think what makes it seem difficult is all the reading about a subject I really don't want to know anything about..... The fact that people can take advantage and keep doing it is just wrong.

Thanks for you guidance, I really do appreciate it, from all of you that is.

    It's just a letter saying:

    Dear Sirs,

Response to your LBC - PCN xxxxxxxx

Your client's claim is baseless and unevidenced, and I want to see the following, in the interests of open dealing and in an attempt to resolve this dispute without your typical 'robo-claim' rush to court:

    1
    2
    3
    4

    yours faithfully,

My Goodness how much easier a formal letter does anyone need? Surely no-one needs a template for that?

I ask myself, why did I even just type that...people can write formal letters.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A very late update, would be interested to hear some thoughts.
I sent my response to the LBC,  eventually I received a letter saying they were disappointed we couldn't resolve the matter when infact they just completely ignored my previous correspondence.
I replied pointing out that fact, and to be honest,  completely forgot all about it.
Well over a year later I received the same letter, I responded again pointing to the fact they had not complied with my request for information, pre action protocol etc.....now I have a county court claim.
    What do you think?

These are desperate times for very desperate parking companies.  Assume the claim adds a fake unknown £60 which the courts have available a big spanking stick ......  VCS knows this as the stick is being passed from court to court just waiting for them

You would assume correct, original charge of £100, claim for £160 plus £25 court fee.

The fact that people can take advantage and keep doing it is just wrong.

But it is not unlawful, yet.  You either play the game or pay.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
