If you pulled out for objective reasons, then you ought to be happy that your cash won't be going into a money pit.0

Yes I have def made the right decision im just a little gutted as there isn’t anything else on the market at the moment – il be ready to pounce once there is !0

Just had a call from the second house I looked at that although lovely it was too much money and a lot of work needed done, the EA said that they had fedback my feedback to the owners who would take a reasonable offer under the asking price to account for what I had mentioned. I asked what was a reasonable offer and that I was still mulling it over ( I had decided no up until this point) he didn’t give me a straight answer ( I didn’t expect him too as he works for the seller) but said very reasonable but not outrageous – what to do – colleague suggested offer them an outrageous offer they can only say no?0

More detail needed!
How much is it on for?
How long's it been on?
Has it had any reductions already, and if so how much and when?
How does it compare with similar in the area?0 -
Firstly, thanks for providing updates
Agree with AdrianC re more info needed. I sense that a link to the 2nd property on Right Move, Zoopla etc. would be a step too far but please bear in mind offering £10k under the asking price would be received very differently between a house on at £90k and a house on at £225k
Good luck!0 -

In that area the last 2 houses that sold were 84 –two bed not a three – tidy and with driveway, this is without. A two bed bungalow in a more desirable area shall we say has been on the market for not even a month and is under offer, 145 its for sale for. ps they actually dropped the price in June not august I double checked0

so they have knocked another 5k off the asking price - still a no from me0

Stick with it Klew- and keep posting updates (more entertaining than current TV fare of "Strictly..." and Royal babies!).
Don't write off the new option; if it's been on since Feb with no acceptances they must soon lose their unshakeable faith that they have the best house in the street, lol. So leave your offer on the table but keep looking.
As I've said in past posts, every house we've bought (8-10 over 40 odd years?) came as a result of happenstance or fluke; often after losing another we were pursuing. And every one was a success.
And I love your references, above, to the intrusive nature of the small town grapevine! We experienced that; offered (in about three increasing increments after a cheeky start) on a seaside flat in a small town 90 miles away. Heard nothing all week; rang late Friday to hear we'd been accepted. Debated whether to tell my niece who was born in the seaside town but now lives 5 miles up the road (as our offer being accepted is far from us securing the gaff).... Decided to... to find that she picked up the news on the street on that immediate Saturday that "your uncle Sandy's bought a house"; From a friend of a friend of the Agent to whom I had not even mentionaed a local family link!
If you want anonymity, move to London!
Happy hunting0
