Starting businesses is not easy and there are hundreds (possibly thousands) of successful businesses being run by people that failed initially so you shouldn't belittle the OP for that. It's easy to judge as an employee but if you start your own venture even you may learn a new thing or two. The OP wants advice, I thought this was the place to get such advice? Instead, certain members 'trawl' through their old posts with the intention of virtually assassinating them.

Yes I agree.
People are too happy to show how clever they are to find an old post and then use this as a reason to patronise the OP. Frankly I think implying that the OP is a racist and faking a mental health condition is a step to far.0 -

From a newbie perspective (me) this site has the feeling of an old boys club where new members are not welcome. I'm sure Martin never had the intention of creating such a thing. If you dare share your 'opinion ' you are called a troll. It's like primary school in here at times.0 -

Strange that you haven't offered the OP any advice, let alone constructive advice but have chosen to stalk someone who you chastise for trawling.
Do you not have anything better to do with your time.Originally Posted by shortcrust

Ironic that you have followed me into 3 separate threads and suggest I'm a stalker. You can chose not to reply to me if I have offended you somehow.
I'm as guilty as you for derailing people's threads but I feel it's fair that I have the right of reply.
Sorry OP0 -

No one's denying you the right to reply - if you want a full on discussion there is a subforum for that. What you do not like is that you have been shown to give wholly incorrect advice and have taken it as a personal sleight and have been insulting to very knowledgeable and helpful posters.
Take a massive step back and look at your posts and discover where the problem lies.Originally Posted by shortcrust

How is it following to post in two new threads on the same board!0 -

Can you quote my 'highly inaccurate advice' here please rather than jump on the newbie bashing bandwagon.0 -
I thought that this board was meant to be for advice. Why are people judged so harshly? Yes you can change work coach. I’ve had to.
Free money? Do people think that some people on uc have never paid into the system in their lives? I’ve paid far more in than I have ever taken out.
Being on universal credit is hard. I was in the job centre the other day because some lovely person decided to report me for benefit fraud. (Which I am not committing, it was a malicious report). And my mum who was with me overheard the way some work coaches were talking to claimants. She was shocked. Like the dirt off their shoe. But you aren’t supposed to say that you feel your work coach is less than helpful? I ended up on anti depressants due to the combination of being repeatedly threatened with sanctions. Being referred to a decision maker. The constant pressure put on me and the horrible attitude of staff. While a close relative was very seriously unwell. It broke my mental health. Are any of the people judging the OP currently on UC? Do you know how tough it is?
As for the scheme that allows people to start a business I did this in 2010. I believe the sum I got was 50 pounds a week back then.
I ran my business for 6 years and in that time I put far more back into the community than the sum I had been given0
