Price changed, imperial measurements added and number of pics reduced: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-67086751.html

Thanks for all who took the time to critique.

It does look better, I think. I like the way you have broken up the expanse of white in some of the rooms. Pic 7 of the kitchen still looks really stark to me. Good luck, Brackenfield. Let us know how you get on?
  • Thanks Smodlet I will. Someone has requested the home report so hopefully that will lead to a viewing. :j

I think the kitchen does look stark in that pic, but it does show the wall of storage. What you can't see in the pics is the work surfaces are full of coloured quartz chips, all the colours of the rainbow which adds a lot of colour. If you Google tutti fruitti it'll come up. x:D

Well, I could google tutti frutti but how many prospective buyers would even know to do that, let alone bother? I think you need a close up of your work surfaces to show this, don't you?

I just did google it and it is not to my taste... I prefer a coloured work surface which contrasts rather than blends. Mine are black but the walls are a warm colour and the floor is warm but pale. The units are walnut so dark and warm. Each to her own, right?

OH chose maple instead of walnut. I almost cried and we almost had a row (almost in the shop ) but I managed to wait until we were in the car, actually, not almost.
  • Each to their own, absolutey smodlet.

My neighbour tells me drive bys have increased, hopefully viewers will follow!

I'm a bit gutted as the house I wanted is under offer and EA didn't tell me even though I noted interest

    Rightmove description in quotes:

"The kitchen boasts amtico flooring, white high gloss units with contrasting work surfaces and a range of integrated appliances including double ovens, ceramic hob and extractor, fridge, freezer and dishwasher."

The work surfaces don't look contrasting, they look mostly white. Googled tutti fruitti quartz and I like it. The description could say what the work surfaces are made of. I would want it to mention tutti fruitti quartz chips.

I do like the kitchen. Like the lack of wall cupboards makes the room light and airy rather than having cupboards looming over the work surfaces.

"Off the kitchen lies a convenient utility room and WC and a stunning sun room with picture windows overlooking the picture perfect rear gardens."

Can't see anything labelled utility on the floor plan. Presumably it's opposite the WC.

The floor plan makes it look like the WC and utility are all one room and also a corridor between kitchen and rear hall. If there is a door to the WC area it should be on the floor plan. Ah pic 8 shows there is a door. I would want that on the floor plan. Ah again there may be a door on the plan but it's so faint I can hardly tell. Certainly missed it the first few times I looked. By contrast the bathroom door, also on the blue background, looks much clearer. Can you get them to darken the line?

I would want the description to call it a cloakroom off the utility room to make clear it's a fully contained room in it's own right.

No dimensions for the utility room.

Plus the sun room split off from that sentence and mention the double doors rather than mixing it in with the utility WC melee. Do we really have to have picture twice in the same sentence?

Not being negative as I like the property very much (if it was that price here I would snap it up) but I think the listing lets it down in some areas.

I think this is important, it's what I thought - I didn't spot any loo door.... so assumed the loo had no door, thereby cutting off the access and inconveniencing people if somebody were using the facilities.

The "people that would know the area" are the same ones that say "you wouldn’t invest in a share that was at its all-time peak so equally I would caution against buying property that was at its highest ever level". When you buy a share you are buying part of a company. Why would you not buy at "an all time peak" if there was more to come.

This sort of amateur journalism is favoured by Crashy who is wishing his dream would come true. In the meantime, the market moves ahead, slowly but surely.

Because rising interest rates and declining sentiment mean that there isn`t any more to come, and because property isn`t like shares, you can sell shares at the click of a mouse......and the company giving the quote were one of the biggest cheerleaders for property and high prices in the run up to the melt-down in 2008, so some reality entering their narrative is significant IMO.
