I think the issue is either price, location or no one is buying in Scotland at the moment because its certainly not the pictures. People might not like one or two things but nothing that cant be changed, even the kitchen floor, not my taste but so what.

Just a thought, maybe people looking for a 4 bed house would expect a separate dining room perhaps? Might it do better marketed as a 3 bed? Obviously in a bungalow its more flexible what you'd call a bedroom or a dining room than in a house where if its upstairs, realistically its a bedroom and you cant arbitrarily say its a dining room. Are there more people looking for 3 beds, while those looking for 4 want more space perhaps?

Do you think it's worth putting old school measurements on?
Yes, even for those of us generally comfortable with metric, most listings have imperial measurements and it's just lazy not to have both.

Only other comment I would have is that the first photo looks a bit too...garagey. I would have taken it from the other end of the house.
  • Thanks for your input anotherJoe. Glad you like the pics. I appreciate my white with pops of colour aren't everyone's thing.

We have used the sunroom often for dining. Should we add a table/chairs there?

Our nearest town is Lanark and 4 beds in that price don't seem to be moving, was hoping ours might!
  • I'll definitely ask really the measurements, it's an easy fix.

That is my bad really the pic.... I wanted to show the double garage and drive... obviously influenced by petrol head hubby...

    I LOVE it!!

There are too many photos though, and some of them look odd.

The room in photos 4 and 5 looks strange. Camera angle makes it look small in 4. Is it a lounge??? Why is the green chair in front of the bookshelf? Is it a small room?

The kitchen - photo 6 looks fab, but 7 is awful. 8 and 9 not necessary and detracts from photo 6.

    Photo 20 not needed.

I guess it is just in area where houses take longer to sell, and it IS the summer holiday!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Thanks Pinkshoes for your feedback, so nice that someone loves it. :D:D:D

The green chair room is our living room, it's a fair sized room. The unit is against the wall and the green chair is further into the room, it's not right in front of it. I do see where you are coming from.
You can fit a two seater where chair is, do you think that would be better?

Noted re pics, will go over all feedback carefully and ask EA for few tweaks.

It has potential but a few things are bothering me. Firstly too many pictures. Almost an entire Ikea catalogue in there

The room in the fourth and fifth pictures just clashes, it looks almost studentish where they've got mismatched pieces. The brown windows look too dark against the white walls, the green chair clashes with the purple carpet and curtains and the pink picture on the wall clashes with both the purple and the green.

The kitchen/dining room, the flooring reminds me of the canteen in work, or even a hospital or school type floor, it's just too clinical/industrial, not at all homely. The whole room looks like the sort of thing they had in the preschool I used to work in.

The WC, can't you hang a towel rail instead of putting the hand towel on the toilet? Seems a strange place to keep it. A towel rail would make more sense than a bookshelf.

The master bedroom, the orange pine bed clashes with the grey carpet and the doors on the walk through wardrobe clashes with everything else, they are very old fashioned compared to the ultra modern look everywhere else.

The second bedroom feels a lot more comfortable and less clashy but should have the same white skirting/woodwork as the other rooms. What's with the random vase of flowers on the floor?

The main bathroom seems very bland and soulless, no shower in there? Meaning anyone staying in bedrooms 2 or 3 have to skip showers or use one of the en-suites.

It does have some nice features but there are so many things that just don't flow I'd be looking at it as a project house and thinking of how many thousands I'd have to spend to put it right.

I think it's lovely too even the kitchen flooring. The only thing that would put me off is the size of the lounge just because we are used to big lounges. It's one of our must haves.
  • Thanks for the feedback fosterdog.

You're the 2nd person to mention the living room so perhaps I need to revisit that.

The towel on the loo I saw in other pics so it's a copy. The no shower in the family bathroom is my choice, it's a freestanding bath so didn't want a shower detracting.

Perhaps I should do the woodwork white, it is the only brown woodwork left.

The listing started out a bit bland then WOW! Awesome garden. I would put the trees and grass pics before the paved patio pics and the pic of the gravelled area looking onto the trees (no 29) is just lovely so I would move that earlier still maybe to just after an initial front pic.
