Hmm yes, naturally! You don't need to contact Ryanair if you want to take a parachute into the cabin but you do need to contact them to cancelYou'll need to contact Ryanair.

It does seem rather unfair it can apply to existing bookings made under the old rules. When you booked the flight ticket included 10KG of luggage. Now it doesn't so you have to pay extra. I didn't think materially changing what you'd already paid for was legal, but I guess that is why they are offering a refund and that makes it legal.
They have yet to actually contact me about this change. I found out through the press on the internet. I think there will be a lot of elderly people caught out by this come November, turning up with the hand luggage they booked expecting to take it for free. This is a law suite waiting to happen.
I had to contact Ryanair twice before I could get a refund sorted and that is going to take 7-10 days. My flights are now about £12 cheaper than when I booked them so my intention is to cancel the flights and rebook them with priority boarding - effectively costing me nothing extra.
I don't mind them introducing a £6-10 charge for hand luggage - fair enough they can charge what they want for a flight. You just factor this in when booking. But what angers me is retrospectively introducing the fee for customers who have already made bookings.0 -
If you all check on the Ryanair website (link below), bullet point 5, this change only impacts flights booked after 1st September 2018. So if you have already booked it won't impact you.

Spiro - please stop posting incorrect information. On the same page you linked:4. What about customers who have already booked flights before 1 September for travel on/after 1 Nov?
The new bag policy will apply to all travel on/after 1 November.
Non-priority customers who booked flights before 1 September (for travel after 1 Nov) can either add Priority Boarding for €/£8* or a 10kg bag for €/£10* or they may cancel their booking for a full refund.

Although I guess what might also happen is that some passengers that would have otherwise tried to do with handluggage only will simply pay to check a (full-size) bag.
That's what we'll do. Usually it's £25 each way for a 20KG bag. That's £50. 2 x £8 x2= £32.00
So for £18 more we can pack liquids (for makeup) and buy booze on resort saving heck of a lot.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

No it doesn't. It applies to ALL bookings, you can of course have a full refund if you don't want to pay it.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. what I have been trying was book priority @£6 So I get my 2 carry on bags and then book a £8 for 10KG to check in. It wont let me.0
