I've also got to go on a weight loss kick in the new year. I need a new knee (well I actually need two but one is more complicated because its already been done once) and my health authority have reduced the BMI so I don't qualify now. If nothing else I'll make me focus more.
Thank you. I hope you had a peaceful time.
We can cheer each other on. It's helpful to have something to focus on xxSwooping in to say great work! It sounds like your storming it and your getting a handle on your house. Its becoming manageable! It's all down to you and your hardwork. You're a one woman whirl wind. Merry Christmas jwil xxx
Thank youHope you had a lovely Christmas
We are definitely getting there xx

DH got me some saucepans for Christmas. They might be a boring present to some, but they spark so much joy for me
They are proper stacking ones with a separate handle, so take up very little room, and I can now declutter all of my tatty mismatched pans
I also got a nice pile of books which is very welcome
I put on 4lb last night  I'm done for this year now though, and will start again next week.
I plan on going through the Kon Mari process again next year. So I've made a start today by going through my clothes. I was going to buy some in the sales, but have got enough to last until I need to buy smaller sizes, so moneysaving too :T :T My ultimate aim is to have fewer and better quality clothes (and everything else). It's hard to buy sustainable and quality clothing in plus sizes so that will be another focus for me as I lose weight."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Hi Jwil,

I did this yesterday and your plan regarding clothing also applies. I do feel better when wearing something of good quality rather than something that doesn’t sit quite right or looks tired after a couple of washes.
I will also be returning to WW next week and find out what the damage is. I lost 2 stone this year and have another 5 to go... slow and steady for me as it has taken over 20 years to put the weight on so if it takes a good couple of years for it to come off that is fine with me
Good luck with the plan xxIf thou of fortune be bereft, and of thine earthly store hath left,Two loaves, Sell one and with the dole, buy hyacinths to feed the soul. 'Anon'

You are sounding so much more upbeat - it's lovely. We gave each other towel radiators for xmas so can related to the pans sparking joy - and the newly painted kitchen floor. In our first house the floor for the whole downstairs was black and we used to polish it until we could get carpet. Enjoy the rest of your time offAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I made a start on the kon Mari process today with my jewellery as dd was still home. I identified 1 item for eBay, 1 for repair and brought 2 back into potential use by swapping chains. DD also got 4 items. I’m hoping longer term to cover repair or alteration costs from eBay sales as I have some good items particularly of clothing that need adjustment.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thank you Broke Bear. Congrats on the weightloss and good luck for this year :T :T I've got the best part of 10st to lose, so will be in it for the long haul. Like you, I'm happy with it coming off slowly though as it's more likely to stay off that way.savingholmes wrote: »You are sounding so much more upbeat - it's lovely. Thank you, I'm feeling so much better, it's great. Long may it lastI think practical presents are fine as long as they are truly wanted. DH doesn't get it at all, he hates buying them for me, but knows it's what I want.

Thank youYes, it's where I want to be. I've always gone for cheap, but hopefully in the future I'll be able to go for quality. That said, I've always found Sainsbury's clothing lasts pretty well. It's my go-to place for the kids. It far outlasts other places like Primark.

Thank youSadly I've gained back some of that 2st, but I am still lighter than this time last year so that's good

Well done on making a start! It's great that you've managed to adjust some so you can use them again. It's always satisfying when that happens. Great plans with the funds from the ebay sales too :T"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
I've been out with the kids this morning, and DH is at work. I'm hoping this afternoon to sort out my end of year round up and financials.
I had to order a repeat prescription for my meds today, so I am awaiting a call back from the GP to discuss whether I can come off them now. I'd like to as I think I'm better now. Will see what they say, and I'm going to continue working on the self help to build my resilience."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0
