Oooh, 'nice' letter in the post today. Apparently I wasn't treated fairly by one of my creditors so they are refunding just shy of £200 to my account :T :T That will knock a nice chunk off my total :j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Yay! That's some money you don't have to worry about anymore. I do exactly the same thing. Get overwhelmed and not think straight. When I think it through I realise that I'm mainly angry and upset about (lack of) money. But i do start to tackle the other stuff. What room do you really want so you can go in it and feel calm? You don't even have to sell the stuff straight away - just get it out of that room. I would say your bedroom or the kitchen. But not a child's room... mines been the playroom but 2 birthdays have exploded that room and I'm all over the place again. Maybe get a nice diffuser for in there too. You can do this. One room or even one corner at a time. XxxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800
Total £5500/£138000 -

Thank you guys, it's almost 5% of that particular debt, so better than a kick in the teethAt my current rate of payment, it's knocked 15 years off my payments for that debt :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think ultimately mine is down to money as wellIt's just manifesting as everything else.
I want the front room cleared mostly so I don't feel so stressed if people come round. DH cleared a lot of the porch last week for the drier, so if we could get the front room done, then it wouldn't be so hideous. We've got a plan of what we will do so that DH's stuff is a lot more hidden, if not removed, it's just persuading him to implement it!
I picked up some more storage boxes for the kids toy unit, so this weekend I want to try and get all the toys out of the front room floor. That will make it look much better, and then if DH moves his stuff, it would be much more 'normal' looking."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". That sounds like a great plan, clutter stresses me as well as no money, but you have more control over the clutter. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Snap! We are getting some trofast. Felt tip pens, crayons, hatchimals collectibles, part of that toy that's somewhere... taking over the blooming house! Why are they in my bed?!? There isn't an actual place for them though and unlike the McDonald's toys they can't just go in the bin. Reclaim your front room jwil!
We are covered in brick dust here. Every surface of the house. Driving me insane. But yes get a room that's done, then when you get overwhelmed go in there then you're brain functions better.
Totally fantastic news about saving 15 years of payments!
You're doing great jwil. This too shall pass xxxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
