I agree with you on the dd fiasco I was in credit with British gas and asked them for a refund and they told me if I withdrew my money I would need to pay £40 a month extra so told them I was cancelling my dd and just paid the quarterly bill

Was cheaper doing it that way xx

Just caught up on your diary. You really are doing an amazing job.

I still cannot believe the amount you list, pack and take to the post office from ebay. It sounds like a full time job on its own. I think everybody gets fed up from time to time if you are always on the go like you and I seem to be. However, sometimes we both need to just chill and not feel guilty about it because we both work really hard most of the time.

I was feeling guilty about not listing more items on ebay because I had this target in my head, but work has just taken over at the moment. But, that is how life is sometimes. If you are feeling poorly please do not beat yourself up about it and just relax because when you are feeling better you will pick up all those things and do them.

Just get yourself better and you will feel so much brighter about yourself and your situation.

Take care of yourself and I really do hope you feel so much better very very soon.

It's so frustrating isn't it  I'd much rather pay what I've actually used each month! It's definitely cheaper paying the actual each quarter, but annoying that you don't get any of the deals.

Thank you SNTCC - you are right, sometimes we just need to chill.

Ebay does feel like a full time job sometimes and it can be soul destroying, especially when there are several issues at once.

I hope you manage to have a rest as well, and stop putting so much pressure on yourself :)

  • You'll get your mojo back soon Jwil, we all go through times like that. You're tired and fighting an infection, that's why you feel unmotivated and fed up. The summer ending and the weather getting worse doesn't help. But you'll be back on top soon.

Thank you, yes, I'm not liking the weather, and thankfully feeling a bit better today.

    Hi everyone.

My cold seems to be getting better now thankfully. I was in a lot of pain yesterday with my back too, I think due to our mattress. I can't really afford to replace it at the moment, so last night I made a conscious effort to sleep in a better position which seems to have helped.

We also decided that now the weather has changed, we don't want to spend another winter living with washing draped everywhere so we have ordered a small tumble drier which will arrive tomorrow. I put the heating on yesterday to try and dry some which was ridiculous as I had to open the doors to let the fresh air in as it was too hot! So hopefully this will actually save on our energy bills as I won't need to put the heating on to dry the washing!

I put a few bits on ebay yesterday for Dh and prepped a few for me, but didn't manage to get them on. I'll do that this weekend.

Weather forecast isn't great for this weekend, and we are all tired so we are going to have a quiet one at home. At least with the tumble drier coming, I have an excuse to get DH to move all his stuff out of the porch :D:D

  • Hi Jwil, came for a read of your thread - you sound very motivated with the sorting, carbooting & ebaying!! I have several large crates full of craft stuff (papercrafts) from a few years ago that I just don't use and need to start getting them sorted & selling the stuff too. I'm also (as you've read) working on a project house as well.. I just recently sold my dryer, had it at my previous house when I had a houseful of people, as it's currently just me & I didn't really have anywhere for it, I decided to get some cash. I figure that come winter, if I really needed to, I'll do a laundrette trip!

Anyhow, I shall suscribe and look forward to seeing your updates. Glad you're feeling a bit brighter too.

And I could never risk it again. If I can't open the windows it gets tumbled.

You do deserve a mattress that doesn't make you hurt all day. Maybe a new savings pot? Suggest that's what hubbys eBay money goes on? X

Thanks for popping in SeasideGal! We've managed without a drier until now, but just can't face it again this year. The cash is always handy though!

We've been lucky that it hasn't caused mould, but enough is enough now!

We definitely need a new mattress, but part of me wonders whether it's my weight that's making me ache, and I'd be annoyed if we spent all that money and it made no difference! We do actually have a new mattress in the house which we bought a few years ago, and didn't like as it was too hard. I'm wondering if we can do something with that but DH is reluctant. Lots to think about!
