Well done on losing a pound. I think mindful eating and not eating until you're actually hungry are very important ways to control your weight. I do both of those and I'm not overweight. Sometimes I think, I could eat that but I'm not actually hungry so what's the point? Often a drink will satisfy me just as well as eating when I'm not hungry.
Yes, that will be a big thing for me. I do eat out of habit, when I'm stressed, because it's meal time, without regard for whether I actually want it!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Another warm day today, not so sunny sadly. We are off to the library, and then going to have a quiet day.
DH wants to do lots of listings. I've mentioned to him this morning that although I do want to help clear the house, once that's done, if he continues to buy things at car boots and then sells the bits he doesn't want, he can do it himself. He wasn't particularly impressed, but I don't want to be ebaying forever! (And it might encourage him to think more about what he's buying, and also whether things are worth listing or just car booting).
I need to read the meters and also do a freezer shuffle. I've done a big order from Iceland which is arriving today and I have no idea where I'm going to fit it all
Getting a bit anxious about the costs of our Orkney trip. We normally go out of season so it's cheaper and we get a 30% discount on the ferry. None of that is available this time, and everything is really expensive  Nevertheless, they are the kids only grandparents and we don't see them very often. If they move back down here, this could be the last time we go up anyway. It will be worth it"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

You are right, thank you. It's well worth it. I'm trying to book as much ahead as possible so that when we go I'll have forgotten about the costs and won't be fretting."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Booked the hotels today. That's one thing ticked off. We use travelodges so we can take the dog (and we know where we are going which is much better at the end of a long day!)
I went through TCB and have 12% cashback coming for one night as there was a special offer for scotland :j There is a small amount of cashback for the other night too :T
I've done some listing as well for DH
We went to the library and I've read two of my books alreadyOne was a cookbook, so I've photoed the recipes I want to keep and the other was 'The art of discarding' which supposedly influenced Marie Kondo. A nice short read in the garden.
That motivated me to get up and do a bit of tidying, so sorted out and tidied all the packaging, sorted out the freezers ready for the Iceland delivery, and did a bit of tidying and hoovering out in the extension. I've put out a load of clothing and cot bedding to go, and have some school uniform to donate to school for their clothing sales. The kids had another look through their books and have put 56 books to go :T
I've organised myself for all of the birthdays this month, and identified a duplicate gift of little jwil's that can be re-gifted at a birthday party this month.
The dummy fairy now has all the gifts she needs for when little miss decides to give up her dummy.
I need to phone up RAC and see if I can haggle our breakdown cover as that's due to be renewed. - I've just looked online and it looks like it's pretty good value, will still see if I can do anything though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done on the freezer rearrange, listing and de-cluttering

Yesterday we went for a mooch around the car boot sale and then went fruit picking. The kids loved it.
On Saturday night, little miss decided she wanted the dummy fairy to come. I wasn't expecting her to stick to it, but she did and the dummies are gone :T
However, last night she was so upset, and it took 2 hours to calm her (with a bit more bribery  ) I'm now on the hunt for a bed for her dolls. I'll probably try and make one as otherwise this is going to start getting expensive!
Hoping it's a bit easier tonight as she gets used to being without them. I'm so proud of her, but it's heartbreaking when she's saying things like 'I don't like anything without my dummies' and also 'can you phone the dummy fairy so I can ask her if she will please bring my dummies back' while sobbing her heart outShe got upset this morning, and I asked her what was wrong and she said she hadn't said thank you to the dummy fairy. There's no way in my world I'd be wanting to say thank you to someone who had made me feel that sad!
Little jwil had a party yesterday and allowed me to leave him there :T So I went for a walk around the block whilst waiting for him.
DH sold a few more things yesterday, including a bulky lot which has been on forever and I didn't think would sell :T :T That will be out of the way now! Luckily everyone has paid up so that's all been posted.
Have a good week everyone"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've been in a foul mood today. I think it's hormones
Lost 1.5lb last night, I was actually a bit disappointed as it was showing as more at home, but it's still a loss, and it's probably hormones again! I got my 1.5 stone award at last too
Trying to catch up with all the listings DH has prepped. I did 20 yesterday, still a load more to go. The sooner I get them on, the sooner they will hopefully sell!
Not sure what the plans are for this weekend, I don't really want to do anything, but I know the kids asked to go swimming. DH muttered about doing a car boot sale too.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
