We are tackling the shed this morning. It's a brick built thing which hasn't been touched for many years and has full on horror film cobwebs *shudder* I want to empty it all out and give it a good clean out and hopefully declutter too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Sounds like the dummy fairy plans are going really well, you and little miss shoud’ be very proud of yourselves.
And so busy on the decluttering front too. Awesome. Hope you got some good prices for the stuff that has gone.

Thank you, yes it was
It is neverending isn't it. It's soul destroying when as soon as I clear up it's a mess again.
I like the idea of a list, it helps me when I read back through my diaries on here to see how far I've come.brizzlegirl wrote: »Sounds like the dummy fairy plans are going really well, you and little miss shoud’ be very proud of yourselves.

Not huge prices for stuff but at least it's going"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well the shed declutter went very well :T It was truly a bad day for local spiders that day  I had a few squealy moments, but I think I was immune to it by the end of the day :rotfl:
There was one horrid moment when a bee flew into the shed and got stuck in a cobweb. All these spiders just came dashing out of nowhere heading for it  The bee managed to get away though :j :j It was horrible watching it!
We got rid of so much stuff, and still have a lot to get rid of. We have hundreds of plant pots to get rid of, and we've already got rid of hundreds before! That's just the plastic ones, there's still loads of clay ones too.
DH did a car boot on Saturday afternoon while I continued with the shed. He managed to sell a few things that we cleared from there.
It's doing things like this that you realise that hoarding is such a wasteful process (I know it's a mental health issue in many cases, so not always the fault of the person)There was so much we had to bin because it had degraded, been eaten by mice  rotted etc. A load of garden tools had dry rot and the handles had just turned to sawdust. This is all stuff we inherited with the house, it's not ours. I'm the first to highlight that plastic can be useful, but the quantity here is shocking. Bottles that have degraded, bags that have disintegrated. It's just all such a waste.
DH has filled the car and done a tip run, we've still got to decide what we are doing with all the plant pots and various other bits of gardening stuff.
It's like a different shed now though, and DH didn't moanso he must have been impressed :rotfl:

Yesterday and today I've been feeling rough. I don't know if it's the hayfever, a cold or just a reaction to all the dust etc on Saturday, but it's hit me hard.
Didn't do a lot yesterday other than take the kids to the park and go shopping. I did a load of listing for DH (33 items) and another 16 parcels have gone this morning."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've been absent for ages, so catching up again. Pleased to hear you clear out went well. Hayfever is bad at the moment, I know mine is anyway. So don't suppose the dust from the shed will have helped at all. Hope you are feeling a bit better today.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
EF £200 Mortgage OP's this year £115

Lovely to 'see' you againMy hayfever has been terrible this year. It only lasted a couple of days, so think it was probably a combination of hayfever and the dust.

I'm feeling a bit 'meh' at the moment. I don't seem to be doing anything, just plodding along til payday as always.
I've just redone my SOA as I don't think it's quite right. As expected, I've got more of a gap than I had before which explains why there doesn't seem to be any cash. I've added some extra spends with SW and also since I was doing that my grocery bill has increased. I must work to reduce it a bit.
I hadn't taken into account holiday childcare, so have added it on the basis of what I've booked for the summer holidays. I should probably have added an extra couple of days to the budget, but haven't.
We've also got the Orkney trip too to account for.
Hopefully come September I'll be able to get back on track. Only 13 more nursery bills to go as wellOnce little miss goes to school everything should balance much better. I'll still have 2 of them in after school club and holiday club but it should be easier to manage, and still much cheaper!
Because I've pretty much done decluttering my stuff, I haven't been motivated to do much. I've still got a few bags of stuff I need to look through and organise. It would probably make me feel better if they weren't lying around! It does mean I don't have much of my own stuff to sell, so no random money coming in during the month, which I must say was quite motivational!
I haven't had a great week at SW so not expecting great results tonight. I got my 1.5stone award last week, have probably gained again this week!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
