The OP has asked for some advice, and after reading 4 pages of posting, doesnt seem to be any apart from a couple

OP - rules for immigration has been getting tougher and tougher. you need sponsorship, qualifications and normally a job lined up as well

    have a look at:
    https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas

will help see what type of visa he could apply for and what requirements are needed

Thank you for being 1 of the 2 people who actually replied to my question!

I get the impression that it would be impossible for my cousin to come here. There are plenty of care homes desperately needing workers, but I don't think one of them would offer a job/sponsership to someone they knew (or even didn't know) only wants to stay in the UK for a couple of years. Shame.

    Thanks for your help.

This thread has simply become a platform for grandstanding by certain people.

I'm sure the OP has wondered off in bemusement or disgust, like many before them.

    And you aren't "grandstanding"?

In case you haven't noticed, and you obviously haven't, the OP didn't wonder off anywhere - theirs was the post before yours. Course, you'd know that if you'd actually read the thread. Now who's the grandstander? Nothing to say, nothing to contribute, but needs to express their opinion...

Here's a little story, which is true and taught me a lot.

When I ran a charity, I went on holiday to Sri Lanka. This was a long time ago, before the current strict restrictions on foreign workers. The porter of the hotel was very keen for his niece to come to the UK and work for a while. He said it would really benefit her CV.

The deal he offered was that his niece would come and work for nothing if I could provide her fare, board and lodging.

Accommodation in London was a LOT cheaper then, but however I ran the figures I couldn't make the deal work. It made me realise in a way which nothing else ever had that most low skill or entry level jobs simply pay for the board and lodging of the people who perform them, with very very little leeway. (Be clear - I WANTED it to work, and would have loved to give this young girl a solid start in life.)

Add to that the current hurdles that have to be overcome for foreigners to come to the UK and work, and it is clear that no legal arrangement is possible......
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
