Had a frugal week by default as been ill so not been out, lived mainly out of the cupboards, freezer and allotment (good job I went the day before I became ill). Used up leftovers this morning, cream went into scrambled eggs and salted caramel sauce into apple sauce spread over pancakes. Currently roasting a squash and will combine with floppy carrots and celery to make into soup for tomorrows tea. Made flapjack as well to utilise the oven.
Encouraging DD1 to look at moving her savings to an account that pays better interest.
Off in the bath and then back to bed.
Happy frugalling everyone

So, slowly recovering from flu (DH is starting with it now), definately starting to break as woke up with a face mask au natural:eek:. Instead smelling of menthol I can now wear my own perfume. Not done a great deal really, managed to do the shopping and called at the allotment to pick some spinach and get onions out of storage (in the snow but stopped as I left, typical!!!). Was going to start decluttering and start an early spring clean but the couch kepting calling me. Daisy is still here, just hobbling lots. Nothing MSE as of yet this week
Hope you are all well.

Budgets for
25/12/18 -25/1/19
Money spent. Budget for the month
Food £485.83/ £440:eek: note to self : need to do better next month
Petrol £305.89/ £350:T
Medinces. £42.10/£22:mad:
Clothes £5.50/£30:T
Entertainment £61.30/£60
Misc £46.11/£0:mad::eek::mad::eek::mad::eek:
Holiday and birthday fund £50 each saved
Roll on Pay day.
So looking at the above budget I can see that the food budget is almost right:rotfl: I just need to be abit more careful and try and shop/meal plan from the cupboard. I suspect by being ill for the last 2 weeks I took my gummy eyes off the ball. Petrol is ok. Medinces budget I'd already identified was a !!!! up as I'd based it on just the insurance we have. So that needs to be upped to £30 a month for the forseeable future. Clothes ok at the moment so will leave. Entertainment slighty over, but that was due to meeting up with family quite abit. Misc all I've got to say is:eek: can't believe I'd not thought about all the little things you pick up (they are needed) but don't come into the other catergories. So need to allocate a sensible budget for odds and sods. So will put it at £25 to start with.
Paid the large credit card bill that came this week, noticed that in fact only £130 of it was Christmas related. The rest was made up of something mum was buying for one of the girls which she gave me the money for. The rest was for a holiday DH and I are going on soon (£100 of the christmas spend was this plus his gramna gave us £100 which we put towards this holiday which meant we only had to use £28 of this months holiday budget:j). Had forgotten that we had ordered some food online which put the food budget over this month.
Waiting to hear about a holiday we want to book in October as its the goth weekend in Whitby. Unfortunatley the accommadtion is costly as we need storage for DD2 off roading wheelchair, however my sister and her hubby are coming for the weekend and are contributing a £100 :j.
Well best go as need to get DD2 dressed for school. Her knee has been spasming and is really painful (having to put ice on it and painkillers applied).
Started paperwork for new mortgage now I can focus.

I like the analysis of the budget - and considering how ill you were, I think you've done really well with the food budget.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
