    Hi CR,

So glad you had a lovely relaxing few days, how are the left overs going? Well done on giving blood :T your comment about it being 50% gin made me laugh :rotfl:

Good one in ignoring the sales! I had a quick browse but there was nothing I needed so saved my money :T

  • :hello: Crumpets we're slowly working our way through the leftovers. Made DH take the rest of the chocolates with him to work today, the usual suspects were left, strawberry and orange creams, as they were calling to me. They give me migraine but sometimes the lure is too much and I test the fact that I really shouldn't eat them:eek:. I really love chocolate but it hates me with a passion. Anyway they are out of the house and are no longer a tempation.
Really windy here today and getting DD2 to agree to go out with dog will be a struggle and I can't leave her here on her own. Not sure how I'm going to walk the dog as we are at my inlaws for tea and DD1 has gone with DH to work again. So will need to come up with a plan to get the dog out.
Off to the inlaws for tea and then my sister is coming over as I stupidly organised a night out drinking, it was in one of my 'I really should get out more' moments:wall:. I really do not want to go, I can think of nothing worse if I'm been honest, but I can't cancel as I still feel guilty of not going to hers for Christmas day:(. She's been nagging me for years to go out with her (20 years age difference) and I succumbed in a moment of weakness. Oh well I've got to suck it up and just get on with it knowing my slippers and book will be waiting for me when I get home.
    TT of 38p.
See you all tomorrow hopefully without a hangover:rotfl:

    Hi CR,

Good to hear you had a nice Christmas, and that those dangerous chocolates have been removed from your house now! ;)
I can relate to saying 'yes' to things like that and then just wanting to cancel on the day - it all feels like far more hassle than it's worth somehow! Hopefully you have a fun night, sometimes they turn out much better than you anticipate. Fingers crossed for no hangover tomorrow too :)

I'm exactly the same, I do love socialising but sometimes it too much effort, especially at this time of year! I hope you enjoy it once you're out, and fingers crossed for no hang over tomorrow.

Oh heavens, me too! Knowing I should get out more, and then agreeing to something I don't actually want to do, no matter how much I like the people involved. Hope there's no hangover involved!

I'll add that on Christmas Eve the postman brought my form with a booking for 3rd Jan... "Who on earth would want your blood, then?" Mrs SJ exclaimed.

"How dare you! I'll have 5 sprouts on Christmas Day and carrots in my hot pot at 1am New Years Day!" I countered!

  • :hello: Julicorn Those chocolates were a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off, so I'm glad they are gone.:hello:Crumpets,Julicorn and Karmacat, It ended up been a really goodnight out. We didn't get in till 1am and drank many cocktails. It was great just people watching, laughing at lots of thunderbird dancers and beyonce wannabes. I can't remember the last time I went out like that and had some girly fun. I think it must be about 14 years which probably explained my slack jaw at the prices of drinks these days. Anyway No hangover:dance: this morning although my sister did look abit delicate. I don't think this will become a regular feature of my life.
:hello: Shangaijimmy well done on the healthy eating:rotfl:.:rotfl:.
Finally managed to meet up with my friend and her hubby to exchange presents. Loved my gifts, a soap that reminds me of refreshers (will resist eating it obviously) and a handmade cushion that I had eyed up at a WI meeting. We went for a nice long walk around the local reservior along with everybody else and their mother and have agreed to meet up for a bike ride in a couple of weeks (everybody else and their mother are not invited).
DH has invited his parents to come for tea tomorrow to celebrate the new year so this will involve me getting up early to go shopping as I have very little in that MIL would be able to eat. Although intailly I was annoyed at having to go shopping before I had planned, I don't begrudge my MIL as she has been very thoughful in accomadating my change of diet this year whenever I've been to their house.
Hugs to although who need them.

OOOOooo is the season to start looking at holidays for 2019. Been looking at various places around the country where I would like to visit for DH and I's week away. DH is keen to revisit where we went last year but I would like to visit somewhere different and do something different. I've been reading a book about a rewilding project in west sussex, they run safaris etc and it really appeals at the moment. We've already booked to take the kids to the Gower in the 6wks hols and are going with mum to Newcastle for a week too (only chance she has of having a holiday). I love looking at holidays and the chance to explore new places, do new things and spend some quality time with the kids and DH. Without having to think about doing laundry, hoovering dusting etc which happened when we did a staycation. So many places to visit and only a mortals span of time and purse.
