luckofthe_irish wrote: »Weekend spends for me total £5.54 in Mr T and £26.15 so £31.69. I still have a few small bits to get in Lidl this evening but that should be under £2. A little over my weekly budget this week but that did include a big pack of loo roll and some YS mince that I have put in the freezer for next weeks meals so I am not too worried about that.
This leaves a total of £94.11 so far for the month, with £30.89 left! Payday is the 25th for me so as long as I can keep my big shop on Friday below £30 then I think I will make my first ever target
:T You can do it, @luckofthe_irish!
€10.11 at Delhaize by OH on his way home from work. Mozzarella, Greek yoghurt, and hummus.
€5.50 on vegetable bouillon this evening. That container will last us all through winter and even probably through to March.
Toilet paper, Listerine and some fruit are on the cards tomorrow.
TOTALS SO FAR:

Picked up those last few bits in Lidl last night which adds another £1.18 to my total - so now at £95.29 with £29.71 left!
I think it is going to be a bit of a struggle this week as I stayed in all last weekend and so ate a lot more at home than I normally would at a weekend - I have already run out of berries, eggs & yogurt which I would usually eat every day. So I am just going to have to try and be creative and be more flexible with my meal plan as I refuse to spend next weeks money on top-ups. I dug out some frozen avocados I bought AGES ago but never used to replace the egg in my dinner tonight (yey healthy fats) so let's hope that works out!
Great work to everyone in the thread so far, especially as we are now well over halfway with the challenge!Trying to make my way on my MSE adventure.. Debt free since June 2018:j

Hi everyone!
Work has been even crazier! regular 12 hour days, tons of extra at home, and even a 19 hour day last week! Hence my absence! I know what I've spent, but I've gone over as I just haven't planned well, as always, time constraints.
ANYWAY, I'm still trying, and more importantly, still tracking!
I've put the October thread up today too! I know, I know, shock horror, it's on time!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I haven't caught up on reading everyone's progress yet, but hope you are all doing well!

I just spent €28.78 at Lidl on mozzarella, facial tissues for winter, avocados, bacon, tomato soup, toilet paper, and 2 for 1 dishwasher tablets. The tablets cost €14.99 for the two bags of 48 each and that should last us until February. Glad that's off my plate for now.

We're heading away the last few days of the month, at least we just have to make it to next Thursday evening with the remaining €38.95. I'll update my sig. For October, I'm looking to ratchet everything back down to €300.0 -
Thank you, elsiepac, for putting the October thread up nice & early, because that's made me think about having an actual strategy for the next 3 months! I won't be able to put the budget down next month because we work on a weekend-to-weekend cycle and there are 5 weekends in the October pay-packet. But I can at least try to see that it doesn't creep upwards, which it has a tendency to do when I'm not keeping track.
Another NSD today, but a quick trip to the allotment has yielded spuds, beans, courgettes, chillis, carrots, beetroot and assorted chard & kale leaves. That should keep us going for this evening & tomorrow evening, but I foresee a £5 spend on pasties for lunch for DD2 & I tomorrow whilst visiting my mother; she has her lunch delivered on a Wednesday. The pasties from the local butcher aren't cheap but they are very excellent, and mean I don't have to spend half of our visit in the kitchen!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
My sister (who doesn't need to be frugal) has been subscribing to Hell* Fresh recently, she was given some codes to give to friends to allow them to get a free box( you do need to give card details but can easily cancel after the freebie). So I received mine on Monday, made Gnocchi with homemade pesto yesterday and sweet & sour pork today. Both lovely meals which I would make again (with the recipe cards provided) and an extra bonus that I didn't pay for the meals!
I've got a few codes if anyone would like to try them out!Grocery Challenge 2024

Since last post we have spent £22.24.
OH picked up a top side joint that originally cost £20 for just £4.50 so he was a happy guy. Also bought coffee, grapes, easy peelers, cola, Bfree baugettes, sriracha, bread, organic milk, vegetable crisps and although alcohol isn't usually added to the grocery budget we also added a gluten free beer.
£157.32/£195.
£37.68 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Rats! Now I know I will be going over this month. The pasties came in at £4.20 and were worth every penny, but I got home late to find the fruit bowl empty, contents gone off with OH & DD1 to their various workplaces, and DD1 desperate to eat early. So, boots on, trot off up the road & spend £12 on fruit, sundries for an unexpected stir-fry & a few YS items that have gone straight into the freezer. Ah welll... let's see how little I can go over-budget by.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
