Full disclosure: I have a wood burner, season my own free wood and the sweep has a very brief visit because I burn dry and hot. I do share Badger's suspicion of the consultation, but not his general harrumphing about greens.

Incidentally, last year I bought in 2,191 kWh of energy from my energy company for my 3 bedroom house (plus as a by- the-by drove less than 6k miles and didn't fly.)



Can I suggest that you go and look at your own consumption, available on your bill, to see how that compares, and you might be surprised about how much you use in comparison.
