It normally becomes cleared between 8:30pm and 10:30pm.  You can only close the account once it has cleared (i.e. stopping the interest being paid twice).

I don't think it clears until after midnight now to ensure the double interest is never an option.

This is confirmed by the fact it's now changed to 'Maturing account' with read only access and the message:

This account is now maturing. The maturity process will normally be complete by the following business day. You are only able to view your account at this time

Account now matured.

Closed mine this morning, premium bonds here I come!

Account closed and proceeds transferred. I am sure that on previous occasions, the money was not in my nominated account until the day after maturity.
