County court letter

And to top it all off I'll now have to pay for another cpm charge of £160 now I know there's no way I'll be getting out of that one.
So a loss of a days wages.
£460
£160
Expensive day out for me
As advised, you could have got the claim down to £200 for 2 x PCNs, if you'd prepared better. I did tell you how to argue about added costs.
The other one is not £160 either.
But I fear you are a lamb to the slaughter for that one too, because you didn't follow the forum advice, didn't read your court letter properly, didn't send a WS or evidence and didn't look at how to argue against the added (made up) costs.
With a Judge that was 'on your side' a little preparation beforehand could have won this.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The other £160 Is a complete different location/ticket
This was for 2 tickets on separate occasions but in the same place, faught my case in court but in the end I just couldn't argue that I was parked there and the sign was in clear view of my van. That was really the final say.
The defendant tried to claim for a lot more charges but the judge pretty much told him to "do one"0 -

I'm sorry that you did not win but at least you managed to mitigate the add-ons.
I think that when you do jobs in future you should establish what parking is available from your customer beforehand. If there is not adequate parking you will then have to make a decision about the work and factor in any potential parking charge. I have noticed that a number of firms such as British Gas are doing this now so may be they have been caught out. They ask if they will be able to park. I have moved my car onto a car park in the past so a contractor could park on the drive. Just make sure that the greedy PPC's don't get anymore of your hard earned cash.

As these parking charges occurred whilst you were working in your business include them as a cost to your business. It will reduce your tax by 20% of the claim if you are paying at basic rate. You would have to be able to evidence that these claims were work related.
