So lack of honest pricing information in the headline and on comparison sites is 'not a scam'. I wonder which part of the industry you work in.

It's not a lack of honest pricing in the headline or on comparison sites. It's the price the flight can be booked at. If you want added extras then you need to take the price of those into account. It's not rocket science to add those on and when you compare you compare overall price for the flight with all the extras you want. If you want everything included in the headline price then expect the cost of those to increase. That is unfair on all the people that do not want those extras, and who shouldn't have to subsidise those that do.

The alternative is if you want them then you book with an airline that does include them. Would you pay more to fly with an airline that includes seat selection in the price just because you perceived you got it free of charge?

The accusation of 'working for the company' is usually a sign that someone has no other rebuttal.

I don't use Ryanair, I don't like them at all, however my son and his mates use them a lot. Perhaps it is because they travel a lot they don't seem to have any struggle at all with the pricing, they see an offer for £x price and book it, they don't book extras, they don't care where they sit, and they get some great breaks. usually just a day or two and sometimes with no idea what there is to do at the place they are going.

Perhaps for someone who travels rarely it might be an issue, but then you have the option to not continue through to booking if the extras you choose make the flight too expensive.

BA Also take cabin bags away to the hold when the overhead lockers are full, it happens on virtually every flight out of city airport. BA Have a strange banding system, I don't really understand it, they call you through depending on a letter on your boarding card, A first etc, by D they usually warn that all wheeled bags after D will be taken for the hold.

Oh yes and Norwegian, they take the cabin bags off the last few people boarding once the lockers are full. At that point only people with bags small enough to fit under the seat can board with them .
I always restrict my hand luggage to a small daysac which will fit under the seat in front precisely to avoid having to put it in the hold. It includes important things like medication and that won't fit in my money belt.

As an update for info - we've just booked a couple of Easyjet flights and checked in, without paying for seat selection, 3 weeks before the flight, and got seats together both ways.

So I'm not sure Easyjet have changed their policy. Either that or we're just very very lucky! Maybe I'll buy a lottery ticket this weekend...
