, I did not research a lot on it and rely only on the info from this forum to get an advice on how to tackle the problem.
Sometimes more effort is called for, it is a complicated subject and, if you want to beat the scammers, you have to put in the hours? Do you want to beat them? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
it was a parking place in St Ives (called "tiny car park on google maps). I asked Armtrac for Landlord details and/or to get him involved in the dispute but they would not share this info. Someone told me that i could check land register but i am not sure how to do it and also i live quite far from the place (to be honest, I did not research a lot on it and rely only on the info from this forum to get an advice on how to tackle the problem.
The parking company are not going to help you in any way, shape or form. You could phone St Ives' council, or any retail outlets served by the car park to ask who the landowner is. Land registry seems complicated to me but I haven't tried it. I would do if other options drew a blank.
The great thing about landowner complaints is that, while it is still best not to identify the driver (use the royal 'we') you can tell it like it is - it is one instance in which mitigating factors can be explained. If I were you I would tell it like it is in purple prose, the situation is outrageous and you have every right to be outraged. Do you have any record of money spent in St Ives? Beautiful place very much in need of visitors' £££. Chances are they may be at least one visitor down in future, after all this! Unless you get this thing cancelled of course!0 -
Sp why havent you taken this up with the place where your vehicle was parked???
before yu send anything off, post it up on here firstSometimes more effort is called for, it is a complicated subject and, if you want to beat the scammers, you have to put in the hours? Do you want to beat them?
Yes - i know all about effort etc - I think i exhausted myself a bit before even thinking of finding this forum (which told me that all i did is wasted my time and energy). I had a vast exchange with them admitting me driving etc, asking for the CCTV footage etc. After finding the forum one of the advice was to punch them back again with clear statements or play waiting game as it may never come to court. Tried punching with my letters so waiting time now, with occasional blips. I am ignoring most but now it got insane as the only think they didn't do (yet) to contact me is knocking on my door.
I think i settled a bit and ready for the court case but will give last try to check who the landlord is.The great thing about landowner complaints is that, while it is still best not to identify the driver (use the royal 'we') you can tell it like it is - it is one instance in which mitigating factors can be explained. I already admitted I was the driver. This was before i found this forum but I think I would admit it anyway - maybe stupid but I am not trying to AVOID responsibility after all - i was TOLD so followed the instruction.... plus I have some mental problem with lying - simply can't do it and have to be honest and transparent... and I take everyone's intentions same as default ...at least at the start. (hence trusting in what i was told by the authority on the car park).
I have photos, could dig out some spending proofs - but what would I do with that? I don't think anyone cares about that one occasional visitor from the spending point of view tbh.0 -
dont have landlord details
To the best of my knowledge N.Martin doesnt post here, however some people may be familiar with the car park, and may be able to assist if the location is knownFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Digging around on google will often yeild results as to who owns the place, ie if its a retail park.0

This the place? https://www.stivesparking.com/carpark/stennack-laundrette/
longshot, but have you tried the laundrette? From the Plain Language Commission:

Wow. thanks a lot! I was on this website and looked for it but didn't recognize the pic! (nor the name). Will call the launderette now.0

With a landowner complaint proof of, or at least definite reference to money spent is helpful.
Shops and services really do need all the income they can get. While your contribution to the local economy might seem insignificant, it is unlikely that the unfortunate experience in the car park was a one off. What happened suggests that it is mis-managed and that truly does deter visitors. And honesty cuts both ways too, if you were a genuine customer in the area it is honest to point that out and back it up in a landowner complaint without worrying whether it seems trivial. It also puts a little meat on the bones of the complaint.0 -
Quick update:
After calling few business around (some of felt annoyed by my question) only one call was helpful and the person took my details to pass to the landlord after explaining what has happned (understandably they didn't want to share the info as land owners are not so much in the business sector, just have some properties around). So now I am waiting for them to call - Hopefully they will - I'll let you all know as soon it happens.0 -
Just a thought, might be worth kicking up a public stink on Twitter (if you use it). It can be very powerful for making complaints.
I found these two Twitter accounts which might be relevant for leverage:
St Ives Tourism: https://twitter.com/TourismStIves
Visit Cornwall: https://twitter.com/ILoveCornwallUK
