kitchen cleaned. The cupboard whch got a little tlc was my tall larder cupboard...it's one can/bottle deep (covers a chimney breast) so everything is 'at the front' which is brilliant.
Been to meadowhell (DD needed shoes for the wedding Monday) AND we can make it extra tortuous by visiting Ikea now. New oven gloves bought.
Hallway dusted and vacuumed too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

re school hols.. the first week is THE worst.. the routine change and lack of routine is massive and the children are so used to having their days structured they need to 'de-school' before they can start enjoying their time again. Squeak is almost there and is finding things to occupy herself.. I am not a children entertainer! Pixie is doing ok.. still needs a few more days but is finding stuff to do in between rolling on the floor wailing about the injustice of not being allowed to go to school.. she just wants to learn so we cracked out the work books. Dot is always wild .. she has been eaten alive by something and is a right old mess.. but she is struggling because she is herself.. she will get there.
I've had a tiny piece of fish and some veg today so I'm doing slightly better I think. I'm still concerned about the kidneys though and trying to get them back on track is looking complex.. I'm trying to drink as much as possible to hopefully flush everything through and dilute the stomach acids to more tolerable levels... but, we will win!

In the end I didn't sleep at all last night. So I got up and, just as I was getting sleepy, a big old thunderstorm kicked off for about an hour an a half.
Vegged out in the bath, watched a movie, then dozed off in the studio for about 3 hours, just as Himself must have woken up for his GP appointment for not being able to sleep. Somewhat miffed that I had to clear the bed off - shoes, boots, more shoes, etc - to be able to get on it when he's been shuffling things around in there for weeks.
When I woke up, he had been to the GP and the ratbags had prescribed him proper sleeping meds. The type that I have always been refused out of hand, absolutely impossible, try having a bath dear, it's not something the NHS does, you aren't really going days on end without sleeping and you're not hallucinating, you're asleep and dreaming that you're awake and hallucinating because you're worrying about not being able to sleep and if pain is keeping you awake, have you considered that you aren't in pain but need to have antidepressants because they knock people out (whilst sending people who aren't depressed absolutely batguano mental whilst still not sleeping - go on, ask me how I know this) ... I know the things are potentially habit forming, but I think my longstanding record of not being an absolute moron with opiate painkillers, not drinking much because I don't like it that much, not smoking illegal substances and generally asking when I'm prescribed anything 'How long before I can stop taking it?' should count for something when I'm in there having not slept at all for four nights, instead of being palmed off with offers of things that have a far longer halflife and don't actually work.
Quite frankly, he doesn't sleep because he habitually does sod all and sleeps most of the day away and then !!!!! about on his laptop at night, then goes to bed after being up for about 8 hours and keeps himself awake by listening to noisy, irritating stuff that wakes him up almost as soon as he's nodded off. But he gets help whilst I have to put up with it - and work.
So today, I have done nothing other than lounge about on the bed watching various films. Still not slept, though.
Mind you, it did feel like the kitchen still looked OK when I came downstairs - until just now, as he's made food without cleaning up after himself.
So I'm off to sort that out. And fix the wobbly tap nut that's come loose, as he hasn't got around to it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Washed up. Rewashed the cups he'd done, as they looked dirtier than before they apparently went into vaguely warm water.
Stuck a wholemeal caraway loaf in the BM for the morning and emptied the Spice Cupboard onto the table in the process of searching for said caraway. I'll deal with them tomorrow - and send himself up on steps to clean the shelves properly, as I can't reach them.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

I should be joining your slinkie group and am hoping to lose a dress size by christmas as I know I have three really good coats up there that I could get into if I lost a stone or soI could fit into them. I want to get them sorted and see what else is there to 'motivate' me. I will also look at stuff to ditch as there is no doubt things that even if I could get into them I would no longer wear
I was also hoping to get my beds stripped and sheets done but the weather does not look great - very black clouds however the forecast is to be dry. I will pop them in the wash when DS2 is out of his pit and see what happens.
wow that ended up a bit of an essay - sorry

Morning,
I'm super slow at getting going this morning. And I don't seem to care that I am either! I took DD to the cinema yesterday evening, so it must be the late night ....9pm home....my stamina isn't what it was...
Bedding changed, wm on. I need to drop DD into small town later for volunteering, and I have some errands lined up while I'm waiting for her.
I might turn out the cupboard under the sink as I didn't get to it on Monday, and it doesn't sound too onerous.
Catch you later.0
