Have Octopus given a date when they have taken over our supply from failed Iresa and will we be charged at Iresa rate until such time?

From 1st August at Octopus rates. We can switch from the 22nd.

So we'll be paying their high rates until at least the middle of September.

I cancelled my Iresa D.D; I am £101 in credit for gas and about £1.00 in debit for the electric.

I hope that they will not try to block my switch when the time comes.

This is a very small usage account, especially for gas.

So looking for a supplier with low standing charges, ideally.

Bill has arrived in my Iresa account and as expected it is incorrect. Starts from 1st May but has correct debits / credits in that respect. Charged for to part kWh and 1st August SC, a day when I was not supplied by them. Daughter's bill is the same. I have sent them an e-mail disputing it. According to the e-mail received Octopus are working to ensure the bills are correct, no doubt expecting people not to notice the small error in their favour - x over 100,000 bills is not an insignificant sum.

No changes in my Iresa account - no bill for July yet -currently even with this apparent error over 1st Aug s/charge, I'm "in profit" because they have credited back the difference from my actual reading to their lower "deemed" reading EVEN THO' the deemed reading doesn't now appear in the meter reads list!!:rotfl:

My final Iresa billl has now appeared too. Last billing was to 30/6, but this one commences 1/5/18 and closes on 15/8/18! I understood that Octopus would take on the billing from 1/8? Since this means that I'll still be on Iresa rates for 15 days this month, I'm not too bothered-but it's not what was expected.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I have just had a bill from octopus and its different to the one on my Iresa online account I SUBMITTED METER READING 1st August and the iresa bill is correct. the one i have from octopus Deemed Read from them have added 235 units to the charge. Amazingly though the gas which was around the same amount of units over in Iresa as the previous bill was a estimated one Octopus have manage to take them all off to the exact unit
if they do this to every one of the 90000 customers that's a hell of a lot of money they stand to make isnt it!

Email from Octopus with attachment of Iresa bill. Option of agreeing bill and setting up account with Octopus or disputing the bill with a note " We'd like to complete your transfer as quickly as possible to get you back in control of your energy account." Either agree and move on or dispute it over 27p and risk delaying the ability to switch thus incur extra cost. I think I will accept it and get away from Octopus as soon as possible, not only because of their prices but I just get an uneasy feeling about them from their emails.

Smells like Octopus are losing the plot with the Iresa administrators and just want to draw a line under the transfers ...can't say I blame them , reading the last few posts in the thread!!
The "daily" Iresa blog on the Octopus website hasn't been updated since last Friday!!

If I get a bill which is a few pence out either way, I'll accept it to allow me to get on with switching - no bill for me yet tho':(

I suspect Octopus are a trifle overworked and that the quality of the data they have received from Iresa isn't exactly great.
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
