Might be showing myself to be really thick here but what is MCOL and ESCP??

Both small claims procedures, one for the UK and one for Europe if the airline has no presence in the UK.

    Money Claim On Line
    European Small Claims Procedure

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Worse than that, they haven't actually announced the end of much of the Spanish flying. Flights are off sale from September, but they've not yet advised the thousands of passengers that hold bookings, despite many of those passengers asking them (and BHX) directly on twitter etc...

They are shambolic and have been since the flights launched. It's like the good old days of the 80's and 90's with the one season wonder charter airlines!

I have a flight booked with Primera that was due to fly from Mallorca to Birmingham on 4th Sept but this has been cancelled.
I've emailed to ask them to book me on another flight on 4th Sept with another carrier (Option 3 offered in email) but received no response - not even a holding email.
So today I decided to call them. My advice.... DON'T BOTHER!!!
Took 48 mins to get through and then a very dis-interested lady advised she couldn't rebook over the phone, only give a refund. To rebook a flight I have to wait for them to respond to my email (7-10 days)
So essentially, I could find myself in Mallorca with no way home on the day I need to fly. I've checked Skyscanner for an alternative and of course they're all more expensive (3 times more expensive).
My parents are due to fly home 3 days after me and their flight is cancelled also.

It's a waiting game now to see if they honour their email and get me booked on an alternative flight with another carrier, but I'm not feeling very confident of a good outcome. Very disappointing. :(:(

Primera (who seem to be a bit of a shower of an airline) are responsible for your re-routing costs, so don't accept a refund as they will imply they are no longer responsible for your flights.
I'd send an email giving them 76 hours to confirm they have booked and paid for an alternative airline to get you home on the 4th September or you will make your own arrangements AT THEIR expense. If they don't respond book it yourself, make sure you keep all the receipts/invoices etc and submit a claim to Primera for a full refund, minus what you paid. Submit the claim straightaway. Best of luck getting the money out of Primera, you'll probably need to take legal action for recovery.

So a quick email to update!

I had an email from them last week stating they needed SWIFT number and IBAN number in order to provide payment as they’ll be submitting it from overseas. I didn’t realise that and hadn’t given them this info from the outset so sent it straight away. I then had an email a few days ago saying they’d now received all the information they needed and we will receive payment within four weeks.

    So now just a waiting game... !!!128533;

Lets just hope they do not do it the Ryanair way, insist that you supply them with you sort code/account number/Iban and Swift numbers and then send you a cheque! They are jokers in more ways than one.

At least you are getting there now.

    Good luck.

  • I am too awaiting a refund from Primera for a cancelled flight. I have sent all details (including swift and iban numbers) however I am still awaiting for a refund from the 21st July.
Have you recieved your refund yet?
If not can anybody advise me on what we should do next. We are currently still travelling and the money would be a great help right about now.

Contact your cardprovider. There's no reason you should be waiting a month for a refund of a flight they cancelled.
  • No money as yet.... it’s really bad!

I don’t get how I haven’t heard more about them in the news as this has affected so many people and nobody is getting any response from them.

The four weeks expired last Saturday so I sent a follow up saying you have one week to send the money or I would go to the ombudsman. Still nothing so now I guess we have to go through card provider but I will also be making a complaint to the ombudsman.

Not great when you’ve just bought a house with every penny you own and have to find £600 to pay for flights you should’ve been refunded on!

So I guess since I made the original payment to Primera I contact my card provider and provide details of my travel partners transaction to Thomas Cook so that we can get the money back that way... I really hope they can do that though as I wasn’t sure as the TC charge is not under my name.

    All such a mess!
  • Primera Air owe me over 6500EUROS and aren't responding.

Primera left me stranded in Toronto with my very elderly parents in June 21018, by cancelling the flight home with less than 24hrs notice. Replacement, same-day tickets with Air Canada cost a fortune, but the Primera cancellation email said that they would refund upto 1500EUROs per person, which they confirmed over the phone to me (I have a recording). I've had emails from them promising the refund, and promising the compensation required by EU law. However, emails are cheap and they are no longer replying to me.

It is now over 12 weeks since they agreed the refund and took my bank details and no money has been transferred. Likewise for the compensation, which was agreed over 8 weeks ago. I've engaged with the Civil Aviation Authority in the hope that they can help.

If this comes to legal action does anyone have experience of forming a group to pursue multiple claims at once? It might be more efficient and cheaper than each of us tackling Primera separately?

Looks like Primera Air won't exist as of tomorrow, so anyone waiting for EU261 compensation can kiss goodbye to it.

Anyone waiting for a refund should get onto their card provider.
