I had lots of Leavers on here tell me that there was no way we could return to the EU on the same terms even if we tried to withdraw Article 50, as the nasty old EU would punish us, so I'm not sure why people suddenly think this is evidence of some vast ECJ conspiracy.

Personally I think its an big ruling for an important bit of national sovereignty for nations within the EU

The entire leave argument has been project fear from day one, of course they said it couldn't be withdrawn.

The ruling then impacts the EU as well. Though doesn't change the fact that the next budget (2020 onwards) needs to be agreed. With member states making increased contributions to fund the proposed plans.

Theres plenty of evidence of the EU ignoring or overturning referendums in other countries over the past 40 odd years, im not sure why we thought this would be different

Switzerland currently taking umbrage at the manner in which it is being treated. Our way or no way not being received kindly.

    Brexiteers in utter chaos.

Meanwhile, Sturgeon promises SNP will stand with Labour to overthrow Tories and form a new government following a vote of no confidence.

Ironically many Tories would be relieved.

More like Parliament in chaos as MPs unable or unwilling to deliver on the 2016 referendum. They are an affront to democracy and should hang their collective heads in shame and make a public apology to the nation.

The ECJ has just ruled that Brexit can be unilaterally withdrawn or paused by the UK at any point for any length of time.

This is a body blow to Brexiteers hopes of seeing a withdrawal from the EU next year. Firstly because it's a stupid idea and virtually impossible, secondly because we can now kick it into the long grass until a government that has a mandate and isn't run by Theresa May comes along.
  • Looking forward to a UK gilet jaune / European style mass populist movement if Brexit gets binned.
Merkel is on her way out and Macron is the last 'neo-liberal' standing, but his approval rate is just 18%, less than half what Trump's is, keeping in mind 'liberals' cite Trumps rating as evidence he wont last.
