Brexit the economy and house prices part 6

Some imagery from yesterday's 'Brexit Betrayal' march.
...
You illustrate well the fact that the division in our UK society is clear and evident.
Some people believe a People's Vote will make it all sweetness and light again.
Not a chance. We were a divided nation at the last referendum, and the next campaign will be even more bitter and divided.
The other EU states will see this in full display, and wonder what sort of state they are accepting back.
The Right could well have the final word.0 -

Try telling the EU that we can stay in on the exact same terms as before the referendum. I don't think it'll go down very well with Juncker, Tusk & pals.0 -

Worse even than that is that they then deny it.0 -

You see a change in the media too IMO.
The old idea of balanced BBC-style reporting is changing.
Talk shows on LBC now, have a rabid Remainer like O Brien and Farage on a later slot.
O Brien openly professes his hate for Farage, and regularly derides the "Gammons" on a daily basis.
I can see why it spills out into the public arena.0 -

Surprised that hasn't had more comments on here, given how many said it would never happen.0 -

It leaves me a bit divided.
On one level, the cancellation of A50 is a kick in the nuts for people's voting.
But on another, it could give the government more tactical opportunity. Without good tactics, any vision is going to be compromised.0 -
How ironic.
A ruling from the ECJ telling Britain what it can do.
As this is a ruling from a court that Britain wants nothing to do with what will Britain say. I assume the ruling will be rejected by the British Government.
If it was not such a mess it would almost be funny.
What’s really funny is that Nicola Sturgeon has hailed the ruling thereby accepting the principle that a foreign court can overturn an independence vote.0 -
May has postponed the meaningful vote.
e: Robert Peston posted this:
"And will MPs actually let her pull that vote? MPs of ALL parties - including her own - are queuing up to tell me this morning that they will not give up their democratic right to formally vote down her deal without a fight.
They think they may have the opportunity to reject the motion the government will lay shelving the vote.
If they succeed in voting down her attempt to bury a bad vote, surely in the process they will in effect be terminating her time as PM."0 -
Her time as PM has been over for a while but no-one wants to take over so she'll hang on a bit longer. What’s really funny is that Nicola Sturgeon has hailed the ruling thereby accepting the principle that a foreign court can overturn an independence vote.
Or back to reality; an overseeing court ruled that a country can revoke a notice of intention to leave a larger body. There is no foreign court (because we're still part of it) and they aren't overturning anything.0
