Trump wants to kill WTO stone dead. Just to mention in dispatches.0

Regardless of that, it remains fact that several countries have blocked our proposals for splitting the tariff. I don’t think that going the wto route will be nearly as easy as most brexiteers seem to think. Time will tell.
You're making it up as you go along now, aren't you?
The official stance is there in black & white as I posted links to.
Both from our government and from the WTO themselves.
Now kindly provide evidence of who has officially "blocked" UK proposals please, together with the effects of this.0 -

Widely reported but probably not in the express so you may have missed it.

I agree that my term ‘blocked’ wasn’t appropriate. I should have said something along the lines of it not being as straightforward as we might like.0 -

It’s not a matter of playing fair or otherwise.
The issue is how to allocate NZ import quotas when statistics for the split between U.K. and rest of the EU have been volatile, and potentially unreliable.
It is a matter of negotiation, preferably within an FTA with NZ negotiated over time.0 -

If not, why then should one member country leaving the EU affect these quotas?0 -

What's that?
Ah, says the one saying "We were promised a sweet deal, the EU will cave, BMW workers will strike " etc.
No "pot" and "kettle" syndrome at all there then.

You might find yourself castigated by Filo25 for relying upon the word of media rather than direct from the source, the most reliable surely being the WTO themselves as per the link I already supplied.
Who is the "we" you refer to in ""as we might like"? Again, the official UK stance has been provided.
The unnecessary unpleasantness of the 'Express' comment is noted and suggests evidence that sensible debate is something with which this thread still struggles.
Small wonder the Brexit thread in DT was closed.
It looks like some are determined to see the same with this thread.

Oh, I forgot to add that ‘we’ refers to the U.K. I’d have thought that it was blindingly obvious but sorry for not making it clear enough for you. My mistake.0

So that's another mistake you made.0
