Boris Johnson, JRM, Peter Bone et al have already dismissed the draft agreement as unacceptable.

As elected MP's they can voice their views. Doesn't make them any more important than anbody else. Anybook would think negotiations are being conducted via Facebook. Rather than in a dignified fashion. Must be causing some puzzlement abroad.

So we agree. However too many people blame the immigrants or the EU for this.
There are just too many ills in Britain that have been blamed on the EU.
Given that track record can you imagine that changing after Britain has left. It will be an excuse wheeled out by politicians and Brexiters for decades.

One of the reasons I voted to leave was to end the situation where the EU was a convenient fall guy for British lawmakers. Our MP's became lazy and complacent IMO and it's a joy to see the level of stress they're currently going through it has to be said.
Under EU rules, EU citizens living in the UK must not be treated any differently to UK citizens, so when you have a generous and non contributory welfare system like we have, it's inevitable that Brits become irked at the perceived unfairness.
Its too simplistic to suggest that its our own fault that the UK is so generous, as to solve the issue would mean making wholesale changes to our welfare system that would be detrimental to UK citizens as well as EU ones.
It was just simpler to vote leave, and we did.

I didn't realise that using this forum would lead to my being in such exalted company! Two posters both seemingly with knowledge of this draft agreement which hadn't even been shown to cabinet ministers when they posted, much less made public are wanting to discuss the contents of it.

I tell you what, when you post a link to the official draft agreement I will comment otherwise what are we to comment on?

I am not going to trawl through Google but I thought even Brexiters excepted the research that EU immigrants pay in MORE than they take out.
If I am mistaken that the research proves that, I apologise.
If I am mistaken in thinking Brexiters except the research I promises to fall off my chair.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Indeed it is charming to see the Brits spending their money in the shops in Spain. Without this unthinking support the shops in Spain would be struggling just like the shops in the British high streets.
I am there at the moment and the Brits are doing a great job supporting Spanish retail.
You must be really enjoying Spain to be devoting so much time on here. :rotfl:

You mean they made that judgment before they even read the 500-odd pages? ;)
    You're trying too hard again.
They have seen some of it.
How much have you seen and can you post a link to what of the official Brexit draft agreement you have seen?
It looks to me like it's you that is trying too hard again.
    ;)

Doesn't help that many of the ageing ex-pat population now wish to return home though. Amount of property for sale is startling. Not just in Spain but in other holiday destinations.

the draft agreement has been uploaded to the EU website.

what is shocking to me is, you only have to go to page 4 to find the EU reserve the right to veto our own international. - Article 129

It's one huge con job. Mrs May and the tories are finished!

why do we have to put up with these idiots running the country?

voting every 5 years changes nothing.. every single MP is all talk in it for themselves.

What were you expecting? The EU to roll over and cave in to every demand.

    This is only a draft.
