If your talking about "andor" then his post wasn't a complaint or a plea to sell. He was basically happy that he didn't sell them when he first tried due to the rates dropping since then.

Hey all, Im heading out to vegas on the 16th sept - 25th and at the moment the dollar rate to the pound is averaging 1.84, which has dropped quite a bit in the past 6 months. So m,y question is - is it best to buy now before it drops any more or wait out in the hope that it may go up???

Why is it people come on here moaning about not being able to get rid of dollars, i pm them saying ill buy them giving them and myself a better rate than the highstreet....... Their response?

They completely ignore it and come back on here and moan.

    Amazing.

Were you talking about me Sturll? If you were, perhaps it was my choice of words. I didn't intend to moan.

For anyone who was thinking that the rate against the dollar might pick up I would say there is a slim chance with all the predictions right now about a recession.

The pound dropped 2 cents against the dollar today.

I would take it all in cash to be honest, you can use travelers cheques in shops but you need photo ID in many places and as I assume from your log in you are a bloke do you really want to lug ID around (unless you have a photo driving licence) but its onlt just over £500 so cash all the way. have a good time, we are not back there until November

    Todays exchange rates:

    Thomas cook 1.7780

    Tesco 1.7791

    M & S 1.7773

I think the experts predictions might be right 1.65 by March (or lower)
  • Oh dear, i hope they pick up, even by just a little (by october whats when i go). Trust it it go down the 1st time i ever go.

I think it is predicted to drop but not as quick as this month's drop. But who knows? Oil may rise again which will help the £ against the $ but then we would have to pay more for fuel! The US's outlook for the rest of the year is not very promising - but again who knows?
I'm going May next year and will be watching the markets constantly between then and now.
