i'm looking at going to new york for xmas, so would i get enough miles from this trip and the 3000 from joining up to pay for the flights? or at least one flight?
also, how did you get the 15,000 for swapping it over to an amex one? i might switch mine if its still available.

that was about 3 years ago when they initially swapped to amex. got 5,000 for the white card (which i never used) and 10,000 for the black one.

are they worth it... well, depends how much you spend etc.
flights come as "cheap" as 25,000 miles but it's normally 50,000 to US. That takes alot of getting...

saying that i've had 4 return upper class (2 for me, 2 for the mrs) flights with the miles i've racked up (around 500,000).
