my chartered airline company is going from strength to strength...
who could refuse bargain fare like £25k from MAN to NYC...
as for my dubloon trading, i can only thank phat bear for pointing me in the right direction of the animal kingdom...
seriously.... if you have the money now to go on vacation, and you've paid for all your dollars. i toally agree wit dmg.... the difference between $2 and $1.93 is about 4%, so really insignificant in the long run..

PS. remind me not to drink beers before i reply to threads in the future
I have been here too long when this all makes sense to me!
Does the £25K fare cover me for if I fall asleep and miss my flight (not that I would ever do that ...... not this week anyway), and can I have an exit row seat please?
Gone ... or have I?0 -
dmg24.. there are only exit row seats on my planes..
and if you fall asleep.. we call you and wake you, and we'll wait til you turn up..0 -

Their site quotes $1.9850 for delivery in December. I assume the reason they can offer better deals in the future is that you have to pay them the money NOW and hence they make money having your money in their bank for the next 7 months.0 -
Hi,
I'm off to Vegas in a few weeks (can't wait!).. I've been before and usually just transfer my cash via travelex (booking it online before collecting at the airport).
I'd like to use my debit card this time though, I think my card is one of the better to use abroad, I've got a HSBC Maestro card on a Plus account which means the only charge I pay is the 2.75% load rate.
My concern is though, the availability of cash machines that will accept my card in Vegas, I'm concerned about availability on the strip, and at the airport (as this will need to be the first visit as will have zero dollars with me).

there are plenty of ATMS in vegas, just ask in the stickied vegas thread at the top of this forum, and they'll probably be even able to tell you the location
however, most atms in vegas charge a fee... so add another £1 or £2 onto that already steep 2.75% loading from HSBC...
be sensible and take at least $100, so you have some cash to get to the hotel.. why stress about finding an ATM, when you could be whisked to your hotel, and then you can start stressing and not enjoying your holiday, worrying that every ATM charges you, and your card is charging you...

I didn't think the 2.75% was steep - that seems pretty standard on all debit cards from what I've read.
I do have a Nationwide FlexAccount in the process of being setup too, hopefully that'll arrive in time and I'll just use that instead with only the ATM charges to pay.
Is Maestro pretty well accepted anywhere across the US? I wasn't sure if it was a European brand or not.

i've never had any issues with a maestro card withdrawing money from my RBS account... i only ever used it on the last day normally, to get $20 or $40 out, something like that, when i was running low..
i personally rely on cash when i'm on holiday.. it is accepted everywhere..

I think I may just transfer it - the one last thing that's worrying me is the withdrawal limit per day. I am probably gonna need to withdraw about $500 per day, from others threads I've read the limit on ATM withdrawals is more like $400 per day.
Anyone got any ideas about withdrawing this sort of amount? (I've also posted in the Vegas sticky so sorry about the duplicate)

Most ATMs in Vegas charge you and some are expensive - $3 a go isn't unheard of.
We used the ATM at Ellis Island Casino on Koval Lane - I am pretty certain it was the cheapest at around $1.50 a go.0
