US ($) Currency Thread 1 (closed - use thread 2)

I have just booked a holiday to Orlando, USA in December. I was wondering whether to purchase some US dollar currency now whilst the rate is not too bad, or can anyone advise what the predictions are for the dollar in the future (anyone with a crystal ball out there?).
Another thing, can anyone advise whether it is better to buy theme park passes before I go, or leave it until I get there?

Ive just gazed at my crystal balls and they have predicted several things:

The dollar will reach an all time high on the 31st June at approx 14.07
Also didier drogba will fall over at least 17 times tonight in the champions league semi-final each time pretending that hes been shot in the knee caps.
It will rain tommorow
I will get in from work and no one will make me a cup of tea.
Dubloons are the way forward!!!

and he told me that dubloons are going out of fashion, personally, i don't believe him!

Mr Moo it appears some-ones having a laugh at your expense as barry is no more, he is now part of a very fetching bear sized g-string. However his family are now emailing people about the opportunity to get part of his inheritance if you are willing to impart your bank details to them.

Hi all,
I'm looking to buy some US dollars for a trip to Florida next June. I would really like to get $2 to the pound. I don't mind taking out a deal in advance, eg. pay now receive the dollars in December, if it will get me a good rate. Could you please post a reply if you know of anywhere that will give me $2 to the £1 using this method or, for that fact, any method.

The best you will manage at the moment is $1.93 or there abouts and thats from Travelex. They will also guarantee to give the best rate. Watch for any place that says zero commission - usually they make the money by giving you a poorer exchange rate instead.

if we knew when the rate would hit that.. we'd all be millionaires...

the only method that you could get that kinda rate, is to change everything into dubloons, invest it in the markymoo chartered airlines, and with any luck, dave the hedgehog won't steal it, and you'll get the exchange rate you need..

Managed to get $2 to the £1 today at travel money services:T. I ordered today for delivery in December. Really glad i've managed it as I can now just half everything out there to get the equivalent in pounds. Yeeehaaaa:j.

Have you tied up your money until then?

Would it not have made more sense to put it in a high interest savings account (or mm's company - great returns, and phatbear would throw in the thong if you ask v nicely)?

my chartered airline company is going from strength to strength...
who could refuse bargain fare like £25k from MAN to NYC...

as for my dubloon trading, i can only thank phat bear for pointing me in the right direction of the animal kingdom...

seriously.... if you have the money now to go on vacation, and you've paid for all your dollars. i toally agree wit dmg.... the difference between $2 and $1.93 is about 4%, so really insignificant in the long run..
