Mrs Blink has been made redundant, we fly to Florida in a week (thankfully paid for), but will have no spending money and what little will have is shrinking as the pound gets hammered.

Anyone got Gordon Brown's and Freddie Goodwin's addresses - I think they owe Mrs B some money.

(And any wag who posts 10 Downing Street.......I am looking at you, Fish and Bond)

Happened about a month ago - she only moved to the job 3 months ago (from a position she had been in 7 years!!) Definitely didn't see it coming!

M'eh - just having a bad morning and to see a holiday you have been planning for a year get pummelled by redundancy and the pound losing 1/3 of it s value.

Sod it - even if we spend two weeks sitting by the pool with beer and pizza it will be a good holiday (Villa in Kissimmee, Florida) :beer: :j

I changed £300 at $1.61 around Nov and that was me hedging against it getting worse whilst saying "It can't get much worse". Wish I had changed the full £1000 now!!

No point in getting depressed - flights, cars and villa paid for, tickets to see the mouse paid for, overnight stay at Clearwater Beach paid for. Anything else is an added bonus

I'm actually seeing it as a good thing - normally I would spend endless amounts on things that I didn't really need, I would spend the whole trip shopping. This time I will barely spend anything, and actually visit some tourist attractions (mainly free - Washington DC)!
