Not far wrong there. Plus we're now going to a wedding in Manchester that's happening on Christmas eve! Think now we're staying for a quick Chrimbo dinner and then having a second Christmas on Boxing Day with my parents, which yup, I'm cooking, whilst tired from a journey back to London! Neeyaaaa haaaa haaaa haaaa cackle, cackle.

    Indigestion relief anyone :D

I agree about the December birthdays! I have a friend, a cousin, and both my nephews in December - one nephew's is on Christmas Day! November is worse though, hubby, both BIL's, and in-laws wedding anniversary.

Ok, I realise I'm probably going to get jumped all over for this but...
Why do so many of you spend so much money on extended families when reading your sigs, you still have debt? Why not just spend on the kids? Surely the adults would understand and quite possibly breathe a sigh of relief if they're in a similar situation to you?

Bettie - we balance our spending on extended family members like our nephews with the fact that we don't buy each other anything to keep the cost down.

Ive just seen your Christmas budget IA and I think youre very sensible limiting the spending for Kaitlyn to £30. When they are that young they do not know the difference and they are just as happy with the box or the paper.

Totally agree with this, but god I'm going to sound awful with what I'm about say

My new bubs will be 5 months at Christmas and I've only bought him 3 pressies for Christmas. And as they were on the 'get the cheapest free' at Boots they only cost £13 for all three  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

My eldest was conceived at Christmas time but I don't have any December birthdays to contend with thank goodness - or else the wheels would well and truly come off my wagon. :D

I saved £200 in high street vouchers and Debenhams and M& S. My sister's kids also get £10 each in their bank account which i've saved £4 a month for. They only get one pressy from me to unwrap as they get waaaaaaaayyyyyy too much from everyone else, also there's 4 of them. This year will be new as i have OH to buy for but we're being sensible, you dont' need to spend £100s on each other to show you love each other. That and we're saving for the wedding. I'm sure i'll spend a little bit more but i hope not.

Bettie, I think this is a valid point. When I originally did my SOA I was horrified at how much I have to save per month to buy presents for other people. Even when I cut down I still have to save around £130 per month for Christmas and birthday.

I do only buy for the adults in my family (apart from Mum and Dad) but there are just so many of us!! I have 2 sisters and a brother. They all have OH's. I have 4 nieces, 1 nephew and 1 great nephew. I've even stopped buying for my older nieces. Once they hit 21 the present buying is over. I reckon my family think I mean though.....
