a while back my oscillating fan made a funny noise and stopped oscilllating. I have stripoped it down, vacuumed the dust out of it and reattached the oscillating part. It now oscillates. Very proud of myself.

  • Feeling surprisingly human.

Himself is squirting cleaning sprays around upstairs by the sounds of it.

    RAIN! At last!

have you bleached them? green scrubby scourers said DD2.. and use vaseline on them in future to avoid dying them in the first place! lol
im going in with neat bleach tonight, already tried flash, nail varnish remover, baking soda and fairy - unreal its the nice and easy new formula, never had this problem before and yes, def vaseline next time - lesson learnt!! :rotfl:
  • Enjoying the drop in air temperature greatly. It's gone from 32/90 down to 28/82.

Himself was sat on the bathroom floor in his boxers, scrubbing the floor. He politely declined the invitation to step into the back garden

Finally washed up tons of random things, so it looks like a kitchen again.

Large carrier bag full of jars for recycling. It feels wrong for some reason, but in all honesty, if I were to make jam or pickles, I'd never need that many - and I've already got several in use as vases/pen holders/etc. It would have helped if they had collected the recycling, as the containers are already full, but it looks like they aren't going to bother for at least another fortnight.

Smells like jacket potatoes are baking away in the oven and if it stay cooler (fingers crossed for the rain to keep coming, along with the thunder and lightning, as I love it), going to show him how to set up the bread machine.

Another swish of the counters is in order, but that can wait until after dinner.

  • Still had to water the windowboxes a second time, despite an inch of rain falling pretty quickly this afternoon. Planted out a couple of herb pots where half of each had been used for meals - despite all the doom laden predictions about supermarket herb pots, I've not had one fail to grow happily out there before, and they'll be a useful addition to the Rosemary, mint and bay.

Chucked a few more pointless items away and found the transformer for a ridiculous LED strip, along with the LED strip itself, that Himself has decided is a genius idea to put underneath the wall cupboard. That poor spider will think she's woken up in a discotheque.

Shown him the operation of the BM, as he was impressed enough in the results from my first attempt to actually eat every bit, rather than leaving crusts like a fussy child.

    Cleaned table.

Tomorrow, the last two bowls of washing up will need to be done (I had no idea just how many ice packs he owned when he moved in until they were all in one place), the counter by the boiler will get a scrub and then - if I can face it - I'll do the drawers. The cat food cupboard can wait and the cupboard under the sink could be reorganised, but we can find binbags, cleaning sprays, sponges and the dustpan & brush (dustpan washed and sparkly now) easily enough anyhow.

I need to take the door net down and wash it - I'll do that in a moment - and then the door itself can be cleaned.

I'm sneakily thinking about getting some more houseplants into the kitchen. I've only got one Aloe Vera and three cacti at the moment, but with less gibble about, I could probably sneak a few things in there whilst he's distracted.

It's beginning to feel like a nice place to be in again - I'm already feeling a lot more relaxed about it.

Next week will be the bedroom and the million and one items of clothing I have neglected to deal with. And most likely, another Mothageddon.

Which prom Narc0lepsy? We’re off to Blenheim next Saturday for the Battle Proms. I hope it’s dry.
Albert Hall, English and Irish folk music. Unusual choice for us, but it is actually on his birthday.

Happy to report rain here yesterday eve! Shame couldn't see the blood moon but rain more useful.

After checking on mil yesterday we went to Asd@ and found lots of reduced stuff, yippee. Spent eve checking on trains to family party in London today- interesting mix of strikes, overhead cable failure and signal problems but happily our easiest route seems ok this am.

Rained here last night, just when we came out of the cinema and decided to go for a drink. Still was glad to have slightly cooler air, not too bad today and it might still be bearable when we go into Paris tomorrow

Packing today as off on holiday for 4 weeks tomorrow. Loads to do but watching Mamma Mia 2 mast night put me right in the mood so really motivated now.

    Happy flying
