Ah that must be such a weight off your shoulders MT. It does take over the uncertainty, so glad it's all been confirmed x

I just bought a new TV and I LOVE it. I got a sound bar to go with it and I'm really surprised how much that has added to the experience. Currently watching my way through all sorts of favourites :) Astonished at the change as I don't normally watch much tv but is turning to be £500 well spent (huge tv, sound bar, new dvd player). Go for it :D

It's surprising how much weight I felt waiting for decisions. It's such a relief, thanks bellevie. x

Thanks Rosa. I've been on the fence with it, but now I think I've been pushed to go for it, with a sound bar. I'll order it this week and let you know how it goes.

I worked from home today and am now off until Tuesday so am going to spend that time catching up on housework, personal admin and deciding on the direction I want to go to implement some plans.

As I was driving home on Saturday I had an oil warning, so I've not driven since and topped up the oil at lunctime. I also topped up the screen wash and water. Last time I did that I decided I'd make it a monthly check and then forgot, so I think I'll start scheduling the tedious admin things that need doing regularly but slip my mind until lots of things build up!

Feeling motivated which is a good feeling, especially with a few days off ahead of me.

Thanks for the reminder. I never do these basic checks but I will make a point to do so.

Enjoy your days coming up :)

I keep meaning to set up FlyLady routines again for stuff like that. Or a monthly reminder in my online calendar.

Thank you all for making me feel normal still. As I got in the car and started it yesterday the oil light came on again, but I noticed it said "oil service" so I drove straight to the garage at the end of my road and asked them about it. The oil filter needs a service and it's likely that other parts will start to warn me soon too so I've had to book it in for a full service. I wasn't expecting that this month, but I do drive a lot of miles so it's inevitable. I would have just appreciated a couple of months to get some money together.

I am grateful that I have a garage that I trust so close to where I live, and that I also have access to funds like this when I need to.

It means that I genuinely can't drive anywhere until it's done on Monday and I'm strangely grateful for that too. I have a small supermarket near me so I have access to decent shopping if needed. I hadn't actually realised how convenient this area can be for necessities.

I've finally managed to get the inside glass of my oven door spotless. My oven is clean but the glass inside had these brown baked on stains that no amount of soaking in anything was shifting. So my oven looked filthy and it was such a task to try to clean it off it too. But I tried a blade scraper this time and it worked perfectly! It didn't scratch the glass and got every stain off. I'm very happy with that.

So I now want to keep up the momentum and get my basic checks written out and also the flylady stuff (thank you Rosa) as I do have a terrible habit of leaving things until they really need doing! That's a habit I'd love to break.

    Yay to Fridays!

  • Glad you are getting settled in your new role mt . It's nice to have a bit of stability .
Thinking about your car and the new proposed cycle highways coming soon in London . Would it be an idea to get a new 'retro' model ?
Something like the flintstones and the rubbles used . Just a thought :D . Hope it gets sorted soon anyway .

I need to sort my oven out also . It's always one of those things that seems to slip my mind .
Good luck with the tv . The good thing regarding that , is that technology is a lot cheaper these days and there are so many added on things also.
    Enjoy the weekend ..
