Thank goodness it's the weekend. I'd planned to work some overtime but now I'm not sure I can face it. I've already worked extra hours this week (which will accrue as Flexi) to finish a task by yesterday's deadline. But, because I've been concentrating on that one task, the rest of my work has been neglected. Feeling very unappreciated in my role though (as are all of the team) so I'm thinking stuff it, work can wait.

DHs first day in his new job was a long one and he was outside in the torrential rain for most of it. Nevertheless, he enjoyed it and I think he'll settle in well. Because of his working hours, he's not going to be able to do many of the childcare drop offs & pick ups, meaning I'm going to have to do them all, which is turn will affect the hours I can work. I need to get organised, pack lunches and changing bags the night before, meal planning, batch cooking etc. I've already told the older DCs that they will need to help out with things like walking the dog, hoovering, and sorting the recycling. I will give them a bit of extra pocket money in return though.

I'm currently thinking I'll be better to use my weekend blitzing the house, meal planning, and getting some batch cooking done.

In financial news, I've had confirmation that we now qualify for free childcare, so I've stopped the deduction from my wages and I should be nearly £200 a month better off from next month onwards. I also sold an item for £75 yesterday, already paid for and collected.

looks like you will be busy !! - hopefully the weather will be kind on some of the weekends, although not this one where we are!!
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Well my weekend hasn't quite gone to plan. I managed to get rid of 2 bin bags of clothes to the recycling bank yesterday, do a rough meal plan, and the weekly shop, and got up to date on business orders. Today I woke up feeling a bit 'off' and got gradually worse through the day. I ended up going back to bed this afternoon but did feel a better by the time I woke. That means I've not got half the jobs I wanted to done though. I've just been for my 2nd covid jab. I almost cancelled by due to feeling under the weather, but I think it was just a migraine so I went for it.

Hope you feel better soon. Good news on the £200 reduced childcare bill. I had my second jab Thursday and am still fighting a sore arm...

Thank you both. I'm feeling much better. Some mild side effects from the jab, but nowhere near as bad as after the 1st one.

DH had another long day yesterday (14 hours) but is taking it in good spirit at the moment as the overtime pay is good.

I'm working from home today with both DC3 and the dog home with me. DC2 walked the dog before school so he's tired and having a sleep just now & DC3 is being really good. Fingers crossed it lasts!

Thank you both. I feel like a broken record, but I'm not feeling well again today. I think I've had something brewing all week, but I've been so busy that my body has refused to let me be ill. I'm off for a week after today so I know what's going to happen - I'll clock out at 5pm tonight and it's going to hit me!
