will any of the clubs let you start without paying upfront - I'm sure they won't be surprised by a request. are these subs for the holiday only or for the next term - you might get a different reply.
lots of people on holiday - so could you get some extra shifts in - although that probably wouldn't end up in your account until August. so if you need cash now its just the usual eBay - car boot - family shuffle.
alternatively - goto the old style boards and explain your predicament - I am sure the wise heads over there will be able to shave a good deal off your grocery budget which maybe unsustainable, but doable for a month or two
final thought - could you pay by cheque and date it after you next pay day. that might work, although I can see it might be awkward
good luck!!I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Payments won't actually reduce until September though
Well done that's a significant reduction and the older future you will be very very happy to have paid of the mortgage 18 months earlier and will be grateful to the now you for every day of that 500+ day periodI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

sorry to triple post your thread, but was just listening to money box and an article on child benefit loans from credit union came along

Maybe there is one near you. I know you probably don;t want to do this, but needs must and it is appropriate as its pretty much for your kidsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks for all the suggestions Mark88man.
The subs are annual fees. The football subs have to be paid in full before they are allowed to play. I can pay the performing arts fees per half term, but it's more expensive, so if I can scrimp and save now then I'll benefit in the long term.
Extra shifts in my existing role are not possible. I work in the public sector and no overtime is being approved (we have a colleague off long term sick and they won't draft in extra staff or allow overtime to complete her work so we are all struggling between us - probably part of the reason I'm feeling so drained). I have thought about looking for something else for an additional few hours a week, but by the time I've paid childcare I'm not sure it would be worth it. We currently juggle childcare between us and my amazing Mum to mean we only have to pay a childminder 2 days a week.
I do try to use my spare time constructively, and I've just managed to cash out £20 from PA, and am close to £30 on OP.
I'll have another look through the old style boards. I've just been through the cupboards and freezer and made a list of all the food we have in. I'm sure with some creative meal planning we could stretch it to last 2 weeks.0 -
I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief as DHs old car has sold. I still need to make a decision on where to make some overpayments, but for now July is sorted.0

Less than DH wanted, but I think it was a fair price.
It's frightening how quickly it gets spent though. On top of all the expenses I posted about yesterday I've had another school trip letter - £150  - I've ringfenced some for bills like car tax and school uniforms, and want to use some for a day out over the summer. It doesn't leave a huge amount for debt overpayments. But, we are back in a comfortable position, able to meet all of our monthly commitments, our savings remain intact, and we have a bit of wriggle room to overpay some debts. I've started to update my spreadsheet up until December and things are looking much more positive.0 -
Another day another school trip letter. £15 this time.
We have received a cheque though - a whopping £7.85 of the £2000 wages DH is owed!!0 -
Is it wrong that I'm wishing the days away so that I can see my debt coming down?

Still got a barclaycard payment to go out and if I can manage to pay an extra £50 somewhere I'll be under £25,000.0
