Fair point - cash is designed so you can only spend it once and can't go below 0. CC, debit and epay -not so much

we do have a cash budget for our holiday in a couple of weeks - we'll see how that goes - fingers crossed

  • DH has a new job :j:j:j

The £1200 in my soa is the minimum he should bring home, but he's been told it will probably be a few £100 more. I feel like a weight has been lifted. :j:j

  • Just caught up on your diary and good to see that your DH now has a job and you got some money back from the car your DH bought.

Bearing in mind that M and S card seems to keep going up and then ge5 repaid then build up again and the interest is high I wonder if you should stop using it for fuel and food? I always found using credit cards when you are on a tight budget tends to cause more problems than it gains in terms of vouchers etc. I am not sure if you use it to buy other stuff but psychologically buying on plastic is a lot easier than buying in cash so it make you think twice before spending.

  • Thank you all.

We don't use the M&S Card for shopping. We spent on it in December for car expenses and house emergencies. We should be able to clear it fairly quickly between DHs overtime, TCB, surveys, and selling. We have an additional card that we use for shopping but I don't count that in my soa as it is always cleared.
